You indiscriminately upvote all deals, so it's only fair to upvote your deal 😊

    • +8

It's true, I have minor OCD and I upvote most deals. Thanks for the upvote!

"If you highlight everything then you highlight nothing"

        • +1

100%, I find this issue occurs a lot now on OZB, Hard to tell the real bargains from standard pricing since most things get upvoted.

    • +3

You can actually get temp banned from upvoting if you indiscriminately upvote all deals.

      • +1

I believe the go was mass upvoters have vote nullified (but only for purposes of calculating total vote score to determine if performance bans are handed out)

        • +1

Dunno, i wasnt able to upvote for a while

I recommend this pillow. I used it on an eight hour flight. It's quite warm on the neck but also provides good support. I recall paying almost $50 for this because it had the highest ratings.

    • +1

Using this on a plane right now and it's great👌

    • how did it get warm?

    • I've had this for a while, and warm can be an understatement depending on the aircon settings during the flight. Also, wearing headphones can be very problematic due to the sides, at least for me. Other than that, it is very comfortable though.

  • +1

I tried Trtl and it was ok.
Bought this to check it out and it feels pretty good but haven't tested in flight yet.

I like how compact this can get and the foam provides more support than Trtl.

Trtl is lighter and takes up less space but only supports 1 side

    • +1

Trtl is utter crap and is so uncomfortable. This pillow is much better support and I just clip it on the outside of my backpack.

      • +2

Have to agree with you. Wanted to really like the Trtl but used it on an 8 hour flight and was the most uncomfortable P.O.S I've ever bought. Followed their guide, looked up videos, but no luck. If you got it into a very specific position it was ok, but move your head a little or need to adjust and it went back to crap and uncomfortable. Seemingly built for a specific body type, to which I am not it.

      • Agree.

Really wanted it to work cause I liked the whole idea.. but I feel like all the positive reviews must be spam / people with the perfect dimensions of neck:jaw:shoulder ratios.

Tried it on a recent return flight to North America. Was looking forward to returning it and getting my money back…. Until I accidentally left it in the window side-tubs on the a380.

  • +12

    Haven’t flown in years.

    Bought 2.

    Thanks OP

    • +6

2? Great, now you have to fly twice

      • +3

        Woohoo!

      • +1

Or just once Return flight. Make sure you do what @Alpine58 did above accidently.

    • +9

      Tasmanian?

      • Loganese

  • Whilst these necks are good but be mindful these days new airline seat you are not able to strap it to the head rest as they comes mainly flat, render the strap useless.

    • I guess it was going to my question after seeing the strap “patented Seat Strap System which allows you to attach the pillow to the wings of the seat headrest.”

But why would you want this?

      • +4

Keeps you upright so you're not dribbling on a Barry in the seat next to you

      • +2

So your head does not drop forward as soon as you fall asleep, waking you up or giving you neck pain when you wake up. You stay in position if the neck pillow is attached to the seat.

    • +6

This is not true. The new seats have two "flaps" that you can bend out either side of your head. The Cabeau neck pillows have two loops that fit around those flaps perfectly. Many airline seat head flap arrangements are also height adjustable so the Cabeau can be set at the right height. I have flow to Europe twice in the last month, and all plane seats have been perfectly for them and I have slept great.

      • That sounds promising. I have always thought I would like to try a homemade strap or scarf that with the permission of the person behind would go all the way around the back of seat and wrap around my forehead. Locing me in. It's not the wobble left or right its the tipping forward that wakes you up. I am surprised ergonomic engineers have not come up with a system built in which would provide cattle-class customers a way of keeping stable while sitting up. At least it may give you some chance of shuteye.

      • I flew on a Jetstar flight from Tokyo in February, 7 hours no headrest flaps dead flat. New seats are a joke. I had a sore neck for days after and not from the slopes!

      • You need to fly with more cheap arse airlines to experience the seats with no head rest :)

  • +5

I have this, it’s pretty good but it’s also pretty high so I cut out some of the foam so I could also wear my Sony xm5s / over ear headphones

  • How well does it work with over war headphones? Do they touch?

    • +28

      WW1 or WW2?

    • The neck goes very high so I would recommend IEM if you can.

    • I can wear comfortably with my Sony's, but they do touch

    • XM4s fit fine for me but I can see them being problematic for some shapes and sizes.

    • The Cabeau neck pillows are not designed to be used with overears, you are better off with the tiny passive ear plugs that go right in your ears. I recommend the Otifleks Goodsleep Earplugs, but they do go right in and you have to get the right size for your ears (I use the small ones).

    • yes, good touch.

  • +1

The black one is also $36 now

  • What’s the difference between these two listings? https://amzn.asia/d/04sfwzOI

  • Best pillow worth the buy.

  • Would Aliexpress cheaper?

  • +4

I used this for a flight to Europe and many hours in tour buses. Excellent product.
Pro tip: if you like to rest with your neck flush with the seat's head-rest, just wear the pillow backwards.

  • +1

I've got one, it is good for long car trips too

  • BOUGHT THIS LAST WEEK FOR A RELATIVE SAD
it's crazy that no other competitive product has something similar with attachments etc.

    • +2

I bought the Wirecutter top pick, and it's much comfier. The grip works better on most seats than straps.

      • It's missing an attachment to hold the pillow in place so your head doesn't move or drop

  • Any thought on Aliexpress version?

  • Any recommendations for eye mask?

    • I would say 'TEMPUR Sleep Mask'. Comfortable and block ALL the light. But it's $$$

      • I bought the TEMPUR sleep mask ages ago and use it some nights I'm home. It's good in that it blocks all the light but it's a bit uncomfy for side sleeping. It's also spot clean only which is annoying because I'd like to wash it. I want to try out the Manta one or whatever it's called because I like the idea of the eye cutouts to take pressure off the eyes (which the TEMPUR doesn't have)

    • +2

I use these at home and on plane - super comfy and blocks light well:

      Mavogel Sleep Eye Mask - Skin… https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07LG4K19C?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_s…

      25% off atm too, $12.79

Since I wear them every night I will buy a new one every so often to replace it

    • The Nidra Sleep Mask at $50ish is generally considered the gold standard, but they are bloody expensive. They look like all the other cheap ones, but they actually do have 100% light seal (all the cheap ones don't really), and they don't actually touch your eyelids, so "its like your wearing nothing at all". I have tried LOTS of other cheap ones, and they suck as they touch your eyelashes and eyelids.

    • +1

I bought the ALASKA BEAR Sleep Mask for Side Sleepers a year ago. Soft, doesn’t hinder sleeping, doesn’t get too hot, blacks out light very well. Loving it!

  • Well, after seeing all those votings, and in order not to lose my membership, bought one, now hope to travel soon :D

  • +13

I did buy this and had to return it as the strap broke after a couple of uses. It was pretty high on neck and tough to use with headphones on. Wouldn't recommend

      • +8

So you didn't like the product, that's all very well, but why the neg?

That's a perfectly valid reason to neg?

        Negative Vote
        Purpose:

To let others know about issues with the deal, merchant or product

That's like me saying if you like the deal, then why haven't you upvoted it?

      • +13

Not everyone has time to go thru all the irrelevant comments to find the negative feedback. Knowing someone has negged the deal and scrolling down to find the reason can be helpful.

        • +2

          Exactly! to the point.

    • +1

I have a different version of this neck pillow and had exactly the same issue!

In order to use the neck pillow, I had to flip it backwards so the pillow braces the front of my neck so the headphones could fit on my ears.

Luckily, I had/have 3 pairs of ANC earbuds (sony/Samsung) and used those during my flights > 12/24 hours

  • Opening at the back? Correct way to use?

    • No, the correct way is opening at the front, but some prefer to wear it backwards.

      • I think thats how 99% of peeps use it but I think its meant to be worn with the pillow at the front to support your head when you doze off.

Having the pillow at the back pushes your head forward.

        • Really? I've been using mine the wrong way all these yrs

  • +1

    Travelling soon, thanks OP

  • For this price is good, i pay full price last year, is comfortable but i get very hot and sweat a lot, also cannot use it with big headphones, i got the airpods max.
I am curious to try those (trtl)

  • Will these work on emirates a380 headrest?

    • -6

Why the downvotes? Yes, you mostly lie flat in business class, but I've also lay down in premium economy before

      • +7

You're only allowed to fly economy if you browse ozbargain.

      • +2

Cheers for letting us know you fly business 😂

  • +2

Dreamliner 787 used by scoot do not have the seperate headrest that these can be tied into so unfortunately this won't work for me on my next trip 😞

    • -1

      Lol don't fly scoot

    • -1

      U lost me at scoot

    • Yeah, scoot, nah, them & AirAsia, the savings not big enough.

I flew China Southern last week however & was very impressed.

    • Don't get me wrong. Dreamliners are great planes and despite being scoot, it's still a pleasant flight especially if you're not massive (taller, wider) person. Seats are comfortable as well. I just wanted to point out that these travel pillows won't work as intended that's all.

  • +1

This is a really comfy travel pillow, even if you don't use the strap, but they aren't designed to work with over-ear headphones so take that into account.

Thinking to try this type, anyone tried?

    • Terrible reviews are sufficient probably to stay away tbh 3.7/5

  • +1

Big Ed has left the chat

  • The only travel pillow I've used that works. I'd prefer a base layer of more rigid higher density foam, rather than ultra squishy memory foam, and it's annoying to make it work with full over ear headphones, but I slept for a solid 5 hours on one leg of a flight to England and it paid for itself right there for me.

  • +1

Really good BUT Expensive than market
Very comfy but I found the exact same product and brand on the airport selling for half price. $20

By a reviewer, meaning it's still expensive even at 1/2 price? Tempting.

Bought yesterday and got $4.91 back from Cashrewards, pretty good

  • +3

never understood why people use these, yeah you get a bit more comfort on the flight but then you have to lug it around your entire trip..

    • Depends, if you are traveling for a 2 week holiday to a single place it's no dramas. If your going traveling for months it's an issue.

    • +1

They pack and squish into a fairly small pouch. I have big trouble sleeping while on the move and this is so far the only pillow that would allow me to shut down for more than an hour. In the last decade I have around 50 intercontinental flights under my belt so my struggles were real for years and this was the trick (along with noise cancelling headphones and eye mask that does not sit on your eyes)

  • grey or black?

    • Grey if you have dandruff

      • Ordered grey cheers

  • I had these a while back but its a compromise as not comfortable with wearing headphones as it keeping pushing up my Sony WH.

  • i also need a good back support ..any recommondation?

  • Good price

I have one already. While it is very supportive and comfortable cushy, if the environment is not cold enough eg bus in snowy winter or older trains, I eventually found it made me too hot and became uncomfortable…so I recommend for cold sleepers only.

Note: I am a heater hater, IFKYK

  • +1

Thks ordered one. I've never used neck pillow ever in flights and have been taking multiple 8 hour+ flights.

    • Time to treat the neck nicely. The neck works harder than the back these phone days.

  • +1

I have nevered used a travel pillow before, but the numerous +ve votes and comments convinced me to get it :) Thanks OP
