Hi, it's my first post.
I've never used these bits before but I just bought one to give it a go (domestic purpose)
Supercheap auto is selling at $59.99 + delivery so i think it's pretty decent deal.

Unfortunately it's not metric, so it's of limited use for me.

    • It's unlikely that the average person requires a metric drill bit set. If you're just drilling clearance holes then imperial is going to be close enough, and besides the most common metric sizes are extremely close to fractional inches.

  • Paid 48 in 2022, goes alright. No snapped bits yet like 2 years later. Is pretty limited use though.

Maybe try these instead in mm instead of inches.

    • Good set, got a few years ago, but they are for metal

      • "This drill bit works with stainless steel, alloyed and unalloyed steel, non-ferrous metals, cast iron, plastics and wood."

I (not a professional tradesperson) usually see drill bits as masonry and "normal" ones. Some wood ones with a centre pointy bit for more precise drilling.

This is a decent "normal" set.

This set is harder, but not on imperial metrics https://www.amazon.com.au/CO14B-14-Piece-Applications-Stainl…

    • Good price for a cobalt set, but I think most people would be better off with more sizes from the DeWalt.

I’m after a decent Hex shank set

These are cheaper and more suited for drilling. Yes they aren't as strong but won't be subject to janky torsion from a rattle gun. The hex bits are good if you only have an impact driver but not as useful in a drill with a regular chuck.

I know a hole's a hole but using an impact to drill just irks me. Lower speed and messier holes. Use the right tool for the job.

Good find; I would actually suggest posting that SKU as a deal in its own right.

The deal on the 21 piece pilot point set has expired, so it's a bit of a moot point, but I'll point out that it's not a hex shank set.

      • I don't think my posts from Amazon Asia are appreciated. They got knocked back a few times

  • A very noobish question recently purchased DeWalt DCD805 Hammer Drill Driver,

    1. Would this drill set work with it? if yes, for the small drill bits do I need anything to hold it in the drill itself as their base is very small?

Also, any good recommendation for a screwdriver set for the DeWalt DCF850N-XJ Compact Impact Driver?

    • Would this drill set work with it? yes
for the small drill bits do I need anything to hold it in the drill itself? no
any good recommendation for a screwdriver set? cheap craftright set will be fine unless you're building a deck or hanging drywall. although I would also pick up one of these: https://www.bunnings.com.au/irwin-impact-pro-performance-152…

    • I wouldn't use it with that. The hex fitting isn't made for that drills chuck, best to use circular drill bits with a drill and hex bits with an impact driver
