Very expensive.. approx. 350 rupees (AUD 6.5) 2GB daily unlimited India calling..

    • Can you get simcard from local carrier on international passport?

If you have friends and family in India, it's not big deal to get a simcard, this is more beneficial for someone travelling to India as tourists.

      • I went to Dehli in Feb and getting a sim card wasn't a big deal. You do need someone to vouch for you, but 99% of hotels have someone who will go with you to do that part (I stayed in a hostel and the guard took me to the shop, did the paperwork, and took care of everything for me). Most of the Airtel stores will help you with it too.

        • Wow, that's a lot of work and time. But you same money at the end I guess

@hopper: Hahahah its India, nothing is easy or fast there.

            • @Intoxicoligist: Keep your India bashing at bay please and stick to the issue.

Due to security concerns (Pakistan and China) ..India has to be more vigilant. It's a small hassle ..no big than here where you need to fill a form in 7/11 store.

              • @akplayer: Ease up turbo, I'm not bashing the place. Honestly the sim card process was easy, and took about 15-20 mins total. Its different to australia, but its not like its some great injustice.

I've got no idea about security concerns, or how having a sim card would be a risk, or how having someone else vouch for you would avoid that risk?

  • All travel eSIM only allows data calls like whatsapp, it does not connect to mobile numbers.

  • Is the data 3gb on US$8.49 plan for daily 3gb use or 3gb for 30days.
