About this item
Perhaps the compound action will be handy vs normal wirecutters
The use I have found for this feature is to protect my pliers and side cutters from being ruined.
Its high leverage squasher which can be used to cut nails, screws, bolts. Just takes a couple of shots on different metals and if it doesn't cut wire, just give it a jiggle
Also saves my knipex mini bolt cutter pliers from abuse
If you're like my great uncle these can hold up a broken shelf for about 45 years until you finally get around to welding it
Pretty much why i just bought two more…. the others are "in use"
As a steering wheel?
To be fair it is a VR/VS commodore so it's actually an improvement over the factory issued steering device.
Nice, thanks
More than 10 years after moving out of my parents I finally get a pair of my own. Found these handy for all sorts of random shit
A true coming of age moment.
Seems a little expensive for Irwin branded vice grips ?
Are they decent quality? value ?
agreed, Amazon are selling Knipex ones for $22 atm
Can you share the link?
@Roose4837: It is showing $53.05 for me so I must have missed it
@bosyd: That one is 7", the equivalent one is
For less than $5 more definitely go the Knipex .
Or even at twice the price I’d rather have one good pair than two shitty grips .
Nothing worse than tearing teeth off your vise grips after cranking them down onto muffler bolts under the car .
Why not just use knipex raptor?
Knipex locking pliers is not as good as wish for. On how much force required to lost the grip of the bolt, see what *Project Farm" found out
I'm curious what you think a normal price would be.
I know irwin isn't the irwin of a few years ago…. how much would you pay for say…no name ali express 10" vice grips?
Wouldn’t
great price. Once you get one you realise how much you use it! Brilliant tool and great quality.
Struggling to think of a time where i needed to cut wire when using some vice grips…
