Update: both of these are backordered now.

I think the160mm CoBolt is an ATL. The 200mm is 1 to 3 months before despatch, not sure if ATL but still seems like a great deal.
I guess I'd prefer the comfort handles but they don't seem to be available for less than twice the price.

Heads up: Knipex make a bewildering variety of tools. The 200mm version posted here is 71 31 200 which means that it is "With recess for easier cutting of thicker wires". Picture Whereas the 71 01 200 has the "Micro-structured cutting edge reduces slipping of the material from the jaws" Picture

Note: while the 160mm has been posted less than 30 days ago, the price has dropped more than 5% so is being posted as a new deal (as informed by a mod).

Damn no discounts on multicomponent grip. edit: lol didnt even see you'd mentioned that already.

  • Is 200mm big enough to cut through most screws / wires in a home environment? I feel I might need the 250mm to cover all bases

    • I guess it depends… If you mean electrical wires might be better to get a diagonal cutter for those. See also the note I added about the jaws in the original post.

      • I'd say the thickest thing I'd need to cut is a 10G screw

Hey I just measured the shank of a 10ga treated pine screw at 3.6mm so it seems easily within spec for the 200.

  • Anyone know how these would do on bike cables, hoses and housing?
