Still good discounts on Bruichladdich, Ardbeg, Laphroaig, if anyone wants to explore Islay whiskies some more. That's in order of my preference as a Scot. The road out of Port Ellen on Islay goes Laphroaig, Lagavulin, Ardbeg in that order, all one mile apart (with a free dram at each for visitors). On the other side of the island is Bruichladdich, restarted by locals just over a decade ago after being mothballed, and now producing the best whiskies IMHO.
In had Bruichladdich Islay Barkey 2013 for the first time the other day and it was beaut . Perfect for Melbourne winters. I heard even the Classic Laddie is nice .
Agreed, IB 2013 is a hidden gem, by far the best in that series so far. Stock up at that price.

This whisky seems to be popular on OzBargain whenever there is a special on it. It’s not up there as one of my favourite scotches, but each to their own. I bought a bottle Wild Turkey Rare Breed for $91.70 last night, which is a favourite bourbon whiskey of mine, and I noticed that one of my favourite scotches Aberlour A'bunadh is currently on special for just under $145 at Dan’s today (it wasn’t yesterday), so I’m might grab a bottle of it too. Tamdhu is a single malt scotch that I’ve started to buy a lot more over the last 2 years, especially when Dan’s have the 12 year old on special for $80, and when the 15 year has been on special for between $110-$140, and when I’ve also been able to pick up the batch strength for $108 a bottle (I bought 6 or so bottles of the batch strength at that price).

personally LA Ice is worth the extra with this whiskey
too true! honestly though I usually drop an ice cube or two to break down the intensity and drink on the rocks - but you'll prob find the way you like best (even if thats with LA ice)
