Lenovo Tab P11 11.5" 2K 128GB Tablet (2nd Gen) + Pen, $304 ($274 with Perks) + Delivery ($0 C&C/ in-Store) @ JB Hi-Fi

140

OK I think I've found a good tablet deal!

JB seems to be price-matching Amazon Germany and is selling the Lenovo Tab P11, 2nd gen, with pen, for $304. You can C&C or delivery from $6.

Even better - the sale price is just above $300 so you can use a perks code for $30 off. I also got a JB deal down to $300 so the net cost was $270. And then you could pay with discounted gift cards!

I don't know HEAPS about this tablet but it seems well-regarded. I'm mostly using it for sheet music, and the pen will be helpful for annotations. You could also look into a keyboard attachment, possibly through Aliexpress.

I'm a big fan of JB these days - good prices and I've found the customer service and support very good too.

  • This or (a9+ 4g ram & 64gig) i just bought and havent cracked open? Low demand user, no games or editing…..

    • Price?

      • Ummmm 210, recent square deal.

    • +1

This has a 2K screen. The A9+ has a 1080p screen, and anything more than 1080p videos is either not supported by the tablet or laggy as.

I've got the 128gb variant just last month, expecting to do some light video editing, and the apps just wouldn't load the videos I took. Gallery showed black boxes.

I used this one for 7 days, I didn't like it and there was a lag and delay that you can feel in UI, then I order P12 pro from Aliexpress and that one is so much better.

    • Links?

    • i bought a tablet from aliexpress and it was trash. top specs too, but most likely a fake. tried to return it, they want me to pay for shipping, and the "business" no longer existed.

      • +1

        How much did you pay?

      • but most likely a fake

Most definitely. If the spec vs price is too good to be true, then it's most likely to be. There are so many Xioami Pad tablets (note the deliberately misspelled name) with crazy specs for rock bottom prices.

        • yea, that's the one i got. the price wasn't super cheap, but a great price and a lot of great reviews (but fake reviews from there friends for sure).

As an iPhone user, I feel like I’ve felt that lag in every Android device I’ve tried, but I’ve really only used very cheap things!

As an Android user - I felt happy when Apple admitted that they forced upgrades to make IOS sluggish on old phones.

        • +1

no "upgrade" was forced. The "upgrade" was power management for the CPU to ensure it didn't draw more power than the battery could supply which would otherwise cause the phone to shut down.

          • +2

@tp0: Without telling customers about it.

            • @John Doh: Users were told an issue with unexpected shutdowns was resolved. It also only applied to phones with batteries that couldn't sustain the peak power draw (ie: had experienced an unexpected shutdown).

The unexpected shutdown issue was quite a big deal at the time and was making headlines. I'm not disagreeing that users weren't told but there is a bit of important context.

              • @tp0: The solution was to hit 2 birds with one stone.

      • In Android world, what you pay is what you get.

    • Link?

      • Google, it's all over the internet and apple was fined as well.

  • Thoughts on this vs M11 with 8GB RAM [currently $297]?

I’m mostly interested in using either to do some casual learning to draw stuff, and reading comics.

      • That’s showing the P11 Gen 1, but aside from that I was mostly hoping to hear directly from people who have used either or both. But thank you!

    • +1

I can't comment on the M11 but my wife has done a full semester of Uni with the P11 Gen2 so far and has loved it, for extended Zoom sessions she has to plug it in ofcourse but for the most part she hasn't felt restricted in her ability to do word processing, course material etc.

It was alot nicer than I expected, both software and finish wise, when we first got it as I thought she'd change her mind for a laptop fairly quickly but has had no issues, can't comment on the drawing specifically but the pen was very responsive when using it.

Her only gripe was its very difficult to find the Lenovo branded case with embedded keyboard so opted for a bluetooth keyboard instead.

    • +1

I haven't used both but from my looking at ozbargain comments it seems that the M11 is underwhelming and the P…maybe less so? But for me the pen is an added bonus - particularly if you wanted to do learning to draw stuff.

    • If you plan on using an official keyboard+trackpad from lenovo then the p11 is the better option since it has support for it (has pins on the bottom for connection). That was the main deciding factor for me between the two

      • Does it come with it or is it sold separately? I tried to find a review of this product and they said it comes bundled, but see no mention of it on the JB product page.

        • it only comes with the pen unfortunately - the keyboard is separate

  • If this was "pro" i.e OLED I would buy in a heart beat.

    • No you cant.

  • Based on the update matrix it looks like Android 14 may be the last OS update?
