    • +1

Interesting. Any tips or tricks you can recommend?

      • +13

Point it under your toilet bowl. This is also useful as a cheap bidet option

        • lol

        • +4

Just need to try to remember not to use it to floss your teeth afterwards

        • +4

Too powerful to be used as a bidet . Talking from experience 😂

    • Also power washing mini driveways

  • +6

If you have braces, strongly recommend

  • +9

Get one with a water tank instead, you won’t regret spending the extra $$.

    • +3

Or if you have Jeremy Clarkson teeth.

      • +7

Why did I Google that lol wp 😂

      • +3

Check out the Book of Great British Smiles

    • any recommendations that dont break the bank?

      • +1

        Also @tabboy
I paid around $95 for https://amzn.asia/d/0bXrGxWZ a few years back, it has a US plug though so you’ll need to do some magic. Not sure what your budget is, there might be similar ones around for less. The one I had before this was a ~$200 Philips with a built in tank on the handle similar to op, I have to reload water constantly and the battery died relatively quickly.

      • costco sell a 2pk, portable and main waterpik with a tank. approx $110 on special.

    • Link? Which one would you reccomend? This one has 5oz tank (147mL), how big do we need?

    • +4

Harder to take into the shower, which is the best place to use since you don't have to worry about mess.

Refilling mid-floss is a pain but its also super easy to do in the shower.

  • +4

Does anyone else find the tank on these too small? Do yourself a favour and get one with the bigger tank. This one would last about 30 seconds on high pressure on full tank.

    • but bigger tank is more heavy

      • +2

No, the tank is stationary and separate from the actual flosser.

  • +18

Get a rechargeable one not this.

  • +2

I find I still need to floss normally every week as the stream can go deep into the gum to remove the bio film and gunk out

    • so the product don't work?

      • +2

I've not used this model but the one I had still required me to use dental floss daily.

These are more for cleaning the little bits of food on the edge of the gums while floss gets the stuff between your teeth.

        • +1

the whole point of flossing is getting the stuff between your teeth and not letting it rot. so this product is useless?

          • @Creamsoda: For me personally, I stopped using mine as since I was using floss anyway I figured there was no real purpose.

If you have trouble with your hands or getting dental floss in your mouth then they are certainly better than nothing but if you use one then I would not recommend it over actual dental floss.

          • -2

@Creamsoda: I had a look at these earlier this year, and the research basically seems to show that there's probably no harm in using them but they don't eliminate the need for brushing or flossing, and if you are brushing and flossing then there's no real benefit. So yeah, basically useless.

      • It does work but I always string floss first and then this. I am using the tank one and this for travelling.

      • +1

Treat it as something that you'd use as complimentary to brushing your teeth and regular flossing. I dont think it will replace flossing completely.

      • +1

I always had problems with my gums (bleeding etc) until I got a water flosser. Since using this i have no problems until I go camping when I rely on dental tape where one of the gaps gets infected within a few days. So I purchased this battery model but if using at home buy one that has a tank separate from the wand.

    • +4

I have ongoing gum issues and the back of one of my front tooth has a deep receding pocket.

Dentist told me to use water flosser in conjunction with normal flossing.

Have had much fewer issues / gum inflammation than before since I started the water flosser.

    • That's what I pay the dentist for every six months 🤣

  • anyone know the difference between this and the select model?

    • +5

Hi mate, if you scroll down towards the bottom on this page they have a table with the differences between some of the models.

  • +2

Kids love this as a fully automatic water pistol

    • Ok. I’m getting one for friendly fight with the nerf arrow pew pew

  • So many water flosser options on Amazon, how to decide???

    • buy one for each tooth and later decide and keep one

  • Water Flosser this looks to be cheap and double the size?!

    • +4

there are hundreds on amazon and even cheaper at ali.
you just need to decide if waterpik brand is worth the extra.
if not good luck spending hours deciding which one to buy on ali.
and the pictures sometimes got photoshopped a lot you get much less quality in reality (with those cheapos)

    • I bought a similar generic one like this to replace my Dentjet one I broke and was underwhelmed with the pressure, felt like half.
      Amazon returned for free though.

  • +6

Get in quick before Lloyd Braun gets them.

    • +4

YOU'RE NOT GIVING AWAY OUR WATERPIK

    • +1

      Came to comment this

    • +1

Your mother was right! You never could compete with Lloyd Braun!

  • Serious question, can you use this in the shower?

    • +1

      check description usually says
      most are OK

  • I want one, but the AAA batteries is pretty annoying. I hear the Colgate one is good but also runs outs of water.

    • +1

never heard of eneloop? must be new around here

      • +2

Haha, Im more a Ladda type of guy

    • What do you do with the eneloops?

  • Hey guys, was also considering https://www.amazon.com.au/Philips-Sonicare-Intensities-Techn… how would this compare with the Waterpik select or Colgate one? Any recommendations from someone who has used them..

    • +1

I had to return two of them under warranty because they just stopped working one fine day. When the second one failed I insisted on a refund. Two year warranty is great, but one would expect a product at this price point to be a bit more reliable.

  • How forceful is the water jet, cant find any videos.

    • It's pretty strong, until your battery voltage drops from use.

    • If you have rechargeables and swap them daily it'll work fine I guess?

  • Is this a decent well known brand or posted just because its cheap?

    • +1

go to amazon (not AU) and type search waterpik , pick any product and you see how many feedbacks and stars there.
very surprised member from 2011 doesnt know waterpik

  • I got the Waterpik Cordless Water Flosser WF-03 in 2021. It's quite powerful with fresh batteries; however, the force of the water jet drops noticeably after a few days and continues to decrease as the batteries drain. Hopefully, rechargeable models work better with a steady output without pressure drops.

  • I like rechargeable ones

  • +1

I'll buy. Refilling every 30 seconds can't be that hard. And it's a good excuse to buy more Eneloops.

  • Mine arrived today. Seems to work great. Should have got one years ago.
