Is ShopBack Being Worse and Worse Lately?

Lately (recent months) I found all of my orders haven't been honoured by Shopback. I always waited for more than two weeks and had my fingers crossed to think it will be confirmed automatically, they just need some time. However, I am wrong, nothing happens. When I click "claim" button in the track history by myself and uploaded the invoice to the website, months passed and still no reply and no update.

Anyone has the same problem? Any suggestion?

    Yes it has gone waaaay down hill. There was a thread recently saying the AU management has all left and even the Ozbargain rep GYB is now shared amongst different people rather than a single rep. I've had heaps of issues lately really concerning, after it being great for years.

  • so what? then move on to the next provider. why loyal? they are not understand loyalty word .
    always bonus for new customers should it be saying thanks to old customers who gives them profit?
    always target people who dont use for long time (should it be rewarding the people who regular? )

      Not saying I try to be loyal to them, just found this problem and would like to see how is it in other people's situation. I chose them just becuase they provided better cashback rate when I was making my order. That's the only reason. Actually I have more than a hundren cashback not being honoured and this is why I am concerning this issue. If they don't provide what they said, they shouldn't say it. I would have chosen the other provider with lower rate though….

  • I only use shopback via the app and it works perfectly for that. $700+ cashback and counting.

    Anytime you move away from the app directly you're going to potentially have issues, whether it's shopback, cashrewards, topcashback Etc. So just assume it won't work outside of the app directly.

    Otherwise all the cashback options are pretty much the same. Just use the one that has the best offers which seems to be shopback most of the time for me.

        Desktop extension is much less reliable. The app acts as a 'walled garden' so they can verify the tracking cookies are loaded and linked to Shopback correctly.

        • And yet I’ve had many purchases not track through the app. 🤷🏻‍♂️

          • @dankru: Which means when you lodge a claim, you can squarely blame Shopback for lack of tracking in their own app so they can't deflect to other issues.

            You're much more likely to get the payout when they can't shuffle the blame back to you.

  • This post made me check my payments I have made by scanning the QR code at the shops, I have heaps not confirmed from last year. How long does it take to get the cash back confirmed?

    Edit: I’m just going through their site and I have to visit the 2nd time to get my cash back approved for the first time… oh well lol

    Cashrewards for me has gone to sh1t.

    Will track all the low value ones, but as soon as it's something worth more than $10 all of a sudden it doesn't track…

    • Cashrewards is still good for me. Recently I got big cashback from NordVPN + PureVPN more than $370 … with profit from PureVPN almost $50 (130% cashback previously, 5 year plan). Also Amaysim 100% cashback $24 + $24 ;-) Already withdrawed the cashback :D

      I only use Chrome mobile browser in my android phone, not the app for any cashback companies.

    I used the app for a recent transaction, made sure to follow all conditions yet they still refuse to honour the cashback

    Yes. I raised a case 3 days ago because my mobile number will not verify. Have chased up everyday via online chat. No email or anything from them. Terrible service.

  • They have gotten WAY worse. I sent an email over a week ago and haven’t got anything back beyond the generic auto reply. That’s only one of numerous examples. They often miss bonus cashbacks too

  • Yeh their communication used to be pretty good when lodging a missing cashback. I lodged a missing cashback for the 100% on your first Temu order from June, been waiting to hear back and just checked my account to see the claim has been rejected. Not so much as an email explaining why.
