Couldn't find anything cheaper for these specs.

      Yes, very strange. It was showing up as $167.73 for me in the morning and now it's showing up even cheaper at $125.52 (0% claimed)

    It's a no-name aliexpress special that currently has 8gb ecc on a ryzen 7 7840hs, figured I'd take the risk for the price and return it if it decides not to boot

      A lot of AMD's processors "support" ECC. Meaning you can use ECC RAM, and the ECC in it may work. But you don't have to use ECC RAM. ECC RAM is usually more expensive, and you wouldn't normally use it unless you needed it.

      It only guaranteed to work on AMD's Pro products.

    They say never say never. But I've never seen RAM that doesn't run at a lower speed if that's all its asked to. RAM doesn't have a speed. It has a maximum speed.
