  • Yeah I like this bottle, definitely worth the $1 from a previous deal. The sphincter sometimes clicks for a few minutes after using it though, gotta give it a squeeze to stop it.

If it's clicking, just close the lock on the cap for a bit. I hear that while using one in my car sometimes and that's my solution.

I'm a daily user of 3 of these bottles (training and racing on Zwift, plus I take one to work). It says I bought them from that link on Amazon Australia in January 2023.

They're fine. I wash them in the dishwasher. It's a little fiddly because under the lid there's a small part that comes out for cleaning, so you end up washing them in 3 pieces (bottle, lid, small part). I put the small part and the lid in the cutlery rack.

One warning: make sure you screw the cap on tightly before use. You'll be squeezing the bottle to take a drink, and if the cap isn't tightly on you can get a bit coming out the sides and onto you. Keep that up and you'll have no problem. I've had Camelbak bottles of a previous generation that were built simpler without the small part, but these work just as well.

Do you experience any wear or damage from washing in the dishwasher? Washing has got to be the worst part of using any cycling bottles. I find it best to just not look inside

      • +1

No visible wear or damage so far from dishwasher. I agree. I can still hear my German exchange student's father (retired Olympic cycling team member) staring at the bottles on my touring bike, telling me "inside must be clean". I figure the heat in the dishwasher will help along with the cleaning.

Great bottles, also backed by lifetime warranty. I had a broken part of the lid after disassembling it for cleaning.

Filled out the form and received a response within 10 minutes saying they are shipping it out.

    • did you need to show any proof of purchase for this? I have always wished spare parts were more widely available. I have one where the lock doesn't work (i.e. water comes out even when it's closed) and another where my son bit halfway through the silicon drink bit when he was 2 and had razor sharp teeth…but have no idea when or wear I bought them

Why did I get an alert on this from the category: Alcohol

Camelbak are part of a company group that includes gun and ammunition manufacturers, if you care about that sort of thing: https://vistaoutdoor.com/brands/

Some do, some don't, just FYI, spend your money as you wish.

    • seems like they sell ammunition and scopes and stuff but not guns?

      • -1

Apologies I think you are correct; seems that they split and sold off the gun manufacturing, e.g. from Remington into Remington Firearms and Remington Ammunition.

  • i've had instances of the little small plastic jet valve inside the nozzle coming out as i was squeezing the bottle with a lot of pressure and almost swallowing it. its also really finnicky to put it back inside. otherwise good bottles.
