if you don’t know Omron is TOTL parts brand.

they make stuff you never hear about because they are used as parts in other products and never credited but they are extremely reliable parts.

most common known product which you can find omron in is mouse switches. they also make switches for buttons on uber expensive stuff like scientific equipment.

this is what I learned during my brief time in the keyboard community (mouse community actually).

also product uses AA batteries so don’t need to worry about 240v adapter. if you don’t want to use batteries just buy the same DC adapter in Aus it will cost you extra though.

I was at the doctor's last month and they actually use Omron brand too.

I don't think they are as small as you make them out to be.

my point is they are everywhere but mostly unbranded. never said they are small. they are a huge company that makes all kinds of parts.

you just don’t often see a consumer product branded Omron and with tonnes of good reviews etc. at least not outside Japan things might be different for JDM.

most likely your doctor uses Omron BPM because it’s the best.

    • "uber expensive stuff"

      • have you ever wondered what those huge machines and equipment cost that scientists and other industry's use?
like stuff you don't even know the name of. it's just a machine that has one purpose and takes up like half a room.

they usually cost in the area of $20k to $100k+ because they don't sell them to individuals but only companies buy them.

  • I use this one from Priceline - https://www.priceline.com.au/product/51130/priceline-bp300-b…

Pretty sure it's the same but rebadged.

    • Pretty sure it's the same but rebadged.

might very well be. it’s common to rebrand products in different markets.

but could also have slight differences.

I will leave it for the experts to confirm it but maybe you can find a Aussie who took one apart and knows a thing or two about the parts.

    • JPN-500 is made in Japan

The Priceline is a rebrand of the Heartsure BP100 (https://www.chemistwarehouse.com.au/buy/61065/heart-sure-aut…). Dont pay the extra for the pink unless you like it that much

Uses an Omron cuff, its a budget model of the Omrom BP range

I would recommend get a blood pressure monitor with Bluetooth function。
Very helpful for daily recording of blood pressure.

  • Noctua Blood pressure monitor!

  • I got a letter from my Doctor last year saying that I needed a Blood Pressure monitor, and this got a full rebate from my health care company.

It's worth checking with them, if you can claim it…

    • Health care company as in private health insurance or Medicare? Who are you with?

  • +1

Can anyone tell me if the newer Omron is more accurate than the one from 12 years ago? I may get this one if it is.
Also, the one that they use in hospital or my previous doctor was much larger, is that mean they are beter?

  • Is Atrial Fibrillation function necessary which is available on the expensive models?

    • Would like to know this too

Thanks OP, my old Omron was due for replacement. $20 off for first app purchase.

    • How often do you need to replace them?
