  • Hi Op, is this good compared to what you can get in coles or woolies?

    • +1

I'm Malaysian and I love these! There's a kick in the spice and the pastes are not too sweet which is my preference

      • As a fellow msian, I approved this.

When this poster says kick they really mean it. It’s very very spicy - and I’m Indian.

  • Maesri Green Curry is my go to, good stuff.

  • Enjoying a bowl of this as I type. Damn good. The rendang goes hard too

    • That's just the Sambal, not Nasi Lemak itself

      • Yup, just as the items linked in post aren’t actually curry chicken or laksa as per the title :)

        • Those are curry chicken/laksa paste though, they have all the spices required to make curry or laksa soup. Sambal on the other hand is condiment, which can also be served with the Laksa as the packaging says

Great curry paste but geez, they’re spicy!

    • Am Malaysian, can confirm!

    • So, unlike most restaurants/cafes in Australia that name their dishes spicy and make it mild/sweet.

  • well neither lasted long :-(

  • If someone has tried both Chilliz and Teans brands, would love to hear what you think of the Chilliz brand, especially re how hot their versions are.

I love the Teans Laksa Paste, but boy, the Teans Rendang paste is unbearably hot. The chicken curry being in the middle.

Yet, the Teans Sambal Nasi Lemak sauce is okay - not too hot, as compared to another common brand, Glory.

I’ve alternated between these and although the Chilliz one is nice, this one tastes more like laksa to me. Chilliz one is more of a generic chicken curry it seems. Try both 😄

    • +1

Chilliz brand is milder compared to Tean's but I think their pastes are sweeter and really didn't suit my palette. Also not as fragrant and authentic as tean's IMHO

      • @GeneralSkunk and @littlekd - thanks for your feedback and comments. Yes, in the end, I did order one of each of the Chilliz brand to try as well. Milder is good, but like you, I also do not like it if the paste is too sweet. Will see.

Oh I’m on top of this, already ordered last night, including the laksa. Tried and tested in this house.

  • Well this is new for me - Amazon is saying the item is unavailable based on regional NSW post code but fine for Sydney. I'm a prime member that uses prime delivery all the time. Anyone else experiencing this for this item?
