Best thermal cups for sure, but for three dollars more I'd get the black 🙂

    • Yep got the black 28 ounce for $43

  • Oh man. These are the best. Forget Stanley, and Yeti, this is where it's at. These will keep your drinks cold alllll day and in to the next.

Looks like these have the non-stick lining, I prefer the ones with slicksteel inners. Still a great bargain though.

    • It's ceramic so not so bad

  • I put cold water in these bottles and it stayed cool 24 hours later in over 40 degree heat. I was amazed.

  • My favourite feature of this brand is how easily they are to keep the lid and sipping bits clean. Disassemble and dishwasher… done. No weird mould accumulation spots. Tbh it would probably wash fine if you didn't disassemble the lid.

Locking, waterproof lid that works great. Caveat: unless you put in fizzy and cold liquid, it can leak as the pressure builds as the temp changes, but only if it's laying down.

Very good cold/hot retention (as others have mentioned)

    • The product says it's not dishwasher compatible… is that the bottle only not the lid?

      • I have never actually dishwasher-ed the bottle, nor anything else using a vaccuum for insulation. Nor did I ever check the label for compatibility.

It's tall and narrow so it wouldn't even wash well imo.

The top hasn't shown any signs of degradation but it's not something I do often either, just now and again.

The silicon(?) seal bit is susceptible to absorbing smells. I went to a fare and filled it at a water station from a food van selling alcohol. It was absolutely vile tasting water and when I let the staff know, they said that just got it from a garden hose. The smell of that hose water clung to that piece relentlessly. I soaked it in Morning fresh water, then it smelled like Morning Fresh. It was ok after the dishwasher cycle.

If you plan on using it primarily for water, it imparts some mild but unpleasant flavour.

The mouth piece is very complex below with lots of places that are hard for the sponge to reach, there are also 2 silicon gaskets that you have to take apart and clean as well. I clean it after every day so it's a real pain to take it all apart and clean all the nooks and crannies

All in all, the hot and cold retention is fantastic and it's built great but the ease of cleaning and odd flavouring means I never use mine anymore…

thank you for the comment I think it's important to think about these things

    • Want to second this observation as echoing my experience. It's great but a few nooks and crannies if you want a to be thorough with the clean. I'll admit to sometimes doing a only quick clean rather than a full disassembled wash and dry. Don't get me wrong it's one of the beter options for travel mugs.

I use a toothbrush to clean the mouthpiece and lid. Makes the grooves super easy.

I found it was the top rubber plug that made it taste weird at first. I soaked that in a very very mild vinegar water and then again in just plain hot water and let it dry. I found it helped heaps with the taste.

edit: you can also buy these pen-like dish brushes from daiso that make cleaning the thread easier. I use that one for my regular bottles but never found a need on this one because the threads aren't hard to reach once you pop out that centre mouthpiece.

thanks for the tip on the rubber plug, I'm going to try that on mine

Can combine with the TopCashback's 5 for 40 go get this down to 35.

I paid 37 for the smaller bottle. Best one I've tried so far. Lightweight and easy to drink from. There's a Thermos one too that's also very similar but has a different locking mechanism and heavier (still a bargain for under half the price of this).

Grabbed the white this time hoping it'd show scratches less.

    • Scratches are a sign of use, and using the heck out of a bottle is nothing but praise for it. I have had my Zojirushi for over 6 years and I use it daily. Some dings and stuff on the bottom but still works, still insulates, still hydrates.

      • Definitely. I'm actively trying to protect the bottle against scratches.. But I'd prefer to have scratches on an unpainted one over a painted one.
The Thermos model is thicker and doesn't ding easily but the paint would still peel away (due to they weight they're mostly indoor bottles for me).

  • Looks like OOS

    • The black one still shows up at 43.84.
