Suggested Audio Setup for Viewing Physical Media in a Small Bedroom

My setup is as follows:

  • 3sqm x 3sqm Bedroom
  • LG C3 42" OLED
  • Panasonic DP-UB820
  • Kallax shelf

The TV and player are mounted on top of the Ikea Kallax shelving unit which is set horizontally at the foot of the bed. I will usually watch sitting on my bed as there is little room elsewhere to be in a suitable viewing position. As such, TV audio sounds fairly suitable at the moment, but I would like higher audio quality out of my physical media, if possible.

I plan to watch Blu-Rays and 4K Blu-Rays. I have looked into this a bit and it seems like I might be limited by the size of my room with the options that I can choose from.

Is it ok if I reuse one I prepared for a similar thread?

This one had a foldout bed

Yeah that was one of my favourites, the cove and indirect lighting really turned the cold 3 x 3 hole in the wall to a cozy warm retreat where I could see myself hiding myself away from the problems of the real world for days on end.

The 4:3 format tv was also a nice touch. Going to be great for Sega genesis street fighter 2.

  • Any reason you can't accommodate soundbar plus sub

Sounds like a great setup for a mini 5.1 home theater..

Sub under the bed, small Sonos sound bar on the kallax, left and right either side and some rear speakers on the bedside tables maybe the IKEA Symfonisk which are supposed to work in a Sonos setup..

Unless the Sonos roam work in with the sounbar? that would be an awesome little setup.

  • maybe some sort of 5.1 system for computers?

  • Due to available space and viewing distance, I would be looking at a good quality soundbar that emulates surround sound

    Mirror?

  • I don't know how well they work but one of them surround sound soundbars could be a good idea.

  • I'd say atmos would be very limited due to the distance from speaker. Just a decent soundbar would still be the way to go. Hard to get surround sound unless you always sit in the dead middle of the bed

Or a very decent pair of headphones

Sennheiser RS series headphones and be done with it… none of this pseudo-tech whizz bang soundbar malarkey for listening in bed.
