Origin Broadband Is Moving to Superloop Network for nbn (Originally on ABB Network)

Just received via email:

Hi there,

You’ll notice some changes over the coming months because we’re changing our network service provider. As part of this change, all Origin Broadband customers will be moved from the existing Aussie Broadband wholesale network to the Superloop network.

We’re making this move so we can continue to give you the best customer service with an Australia-based specialist team, and find more ways to offer award-winning value across energy and internet.

Don’t worry, you’ll still have access to the great internet connection that you love, the same unlimited monthly data, and get to keep all your current inclusions and rewards. Modems, routers and other internet products purchased through us will continue to work as normal.

Origin Energy’s 130,000 broadband customers are set to be fully migrated from Aussie Broadband to Superloop-based services by October.

The deal between Origin and Superloop is for 6 years until March 2030.

Origin Energy's migration to Superloop to complete by October.

Have had no issues with Superloop maintaining top bandwidth speeds at all times so shouldn’t alarm too many people.

There is no CVC now on 100+ plans, so it shouldn't matter that much who you go with…

Will Origin drop their prices now?

Who in their right mind would be using Origin now?
    $95 for 50/20
    $105 for 100/20

Personally, I wouldn't be bundling my internet with an energy provider even if it was to save a few dollars. I had AGL try to do that to me. I'd rather keep it all separate and deal directly with the ISP, not through a 3rd party like Origin or AGL. But that is just my view.

Plus it locks you into lazy tax, which is their goal. Churn and burn is the way.

  • "Australia-based specialist team" sound like marketing spin as I thought superloop used the exetel support in Colombo that is NOT in Australia…..
