I have one of these which I use plugged into a GL.iNet router (really robust setup actually, it was autodetected and I've had zero trouble with the connection), and can confirm that it works with my Aussie Broadband mobile broadband plan. So if you have a sim from another ISP which uses the Optus 4G network I imagine that would work too.

Works well with TP-Link Omada and TP-Link Deco range. Not sure about TP-Link Archer range.

Couldn't get it to work with Mikrotik's RouterOS since a firmware update (of the Huawei dongle) a couple of years ago made them incompatible. Afaik it's unresolved.

Should work with OpenWRT routers (GL.iNet routers, as mentioned above, work as they ship with skinned OpenWRT).

fEDIT: As also mentioned above, works on Optus wholesale network. For other networks, you can get unlocked versions from ~$40 online by searching for the model number E3372

  • Are there any 5G modem this size?

    • not yet, will also depend on market demand.

  • works with ax88u. i havent seen it switch due to failover though… used this system for more than a year now. data credit just rolled over.

    Thanks OP!

    • No problems, did you buy one? I'm wondering if they are network locked?
