I finally jumped on a G84 deal after waiting for ages, and then discovered XR glasses. I love my phone, but really want one with USB C video out now.

I don't need any flagship stuff. I was still rocking a Galaxy S7 until a month ago. Not concerned about the camera either. As long as it has a few gb of RAM, I'm sold.

If you're specifically after motorola phones, Motorola has a chart showing the models that support HDMI / DisplayPort Alt mode over USB-C

The Ozbargain favourite moto g84 and the upcoming g85 (which replaces the g84) does not support the feature. I guess many of their budget phones lack such a feature since 99.99% of phone owners never plug their phone into a display anyway.

Most Samsung S-series phones will support the feature too, and the Google Pixel 8 series (including the 8a) recently got a software update to enable Displayport alt mode.

If you're happy with your phone, what about a small powerful tablet instead? e.g. Lenovo Y700.
