Amazon Australia have a deal on a Canon Satera LBP621C A4 Color Laser Printer for $322.60, from Canon Japan, with free shipping with Prime, but otherwise an extra $250 for shipping.
I have Prime. This is way cheaper than any other colour laser printer I could find, and the reviews of the printer seem good. I am concerned about the warranty, and Amazon's return policies, in case the printer is faulty. Canon don't sell this model in Australia. It looks like the toner wouldn't be hard to source, or too expensive.
Is this a case of the printer price being too good to be true, and a headache in case of repairs or return or is it a bargain?
Amazon will give you a refund if it fails within some kind of reasonable period, but otherwise the price saving here needs to be treated as essentially the cost of you self-insuring.
Be happy that you got a bargain, but be prepared to throw it out if something goes wrong. For what it's worth, it's pretty rare for printers to fail.
Double check cartridge compatibility, that seems like an important detail to research further before plonking down several hundred dollars. Normally Canon will use the same cartridges across several products in the lineup, so the odds are good.
