AmEx Vs GWM Road Side Assistance

Hi there, I have roadside assistance provided by Amex Platinum personal CC as one of their membership benefits, also have another roadside assistance provided by GWM that is packed with my Haval H6 purchased recently. Which one to choose in case of an accident?

If your Roadside Assistance comes with the Vehicle, they will likely tow (if required) to a nearby GWM Dealer.

Amex Premium might call randoms and tow you elsewhere.

Then if you need GWM Parts or Warranty support, you have to jump through another hoop while they get parts or order them.

Breakdown service won't do accident towing, at least not in Victoria.

Any towing as a result of an accident depends on your insurance company - not roadside assistance

Neither, you would call your insurance company.

you call your insurance company and your mum when you get a flat?

After an accident I would make a post on OzBargain.

@Sye: Step1. Compose an MS Paint diagram.
Step 2. Submit diagram to Muzeeb for approval.
            Step 3. Post on OzBargain.

@Sye: Maybe OP doing the correct thing, had a accident but dont have a insurance hence thinking of using the road side assistance to tow the vehicle? 😆

          • @Sye: I had the same idea

a flat is an accident too

  • Learn to change tyre , take car of you car and you wont need either!!!

  • Intrigued by your question, I checked out the Amex PDS to find they won't attend if your vehicle is at home, You at least enjoy the luxury of having a second service to call.

    • What if you push your car out of the garage to next door neighbour?

Look at the benefits of both. Which has the furthest max towing and max taxi ride if you need it? Will one just get you to the nearest repair place and one to a dealer? For a new car I’d go with their roadside assistance if you break down. That way you are going 100% through them for repairs and warranty.

FYI Roadside won’t help in the event of an accident but they will help if you have to change a tyre on the side of the Hume
