Hi everyone,

This is Peter from OECK. We are offering new customers a special discount for our sVPN service which is aimed primarily for Australian users. Here is a list of our features. Please feel free to try us out as we have a 30-day money-back guarantee if you're unhappy with the service for any reason.

Streaming Automation - Connect to the VPN region nearest to your location and still access content from overseas streaming services. We take away the need for you to jump around VPN regions. You can also set regions for specific streaming services. For example you can set your Netflix region independently - similar to how a smartDNS service works. This means no more searching for the "right" server to connect to. Just connect to the VPN and we take care of the rest. Basically, say you connect to Melbourne as a VPN region. You can still access content from multiple regions across the globe without needing to switch regions over and over again.

Device Profiles - You can have up to 100. Each profile allows you to have unique settings for when you log in. For example, you can have one for your computer, another for your iPad, another for your partner, another for your child, etc.

Advanced Port Forwarding - You no longer need to keep track of IP addresses or configure your software to work with the VPN ports you are given. Just tell us which port to forward to and which device profile and it's done.

Also great for torrenting.

Ad, Malware, Social Network and Adult blocker - You can pick and choose which ( if any ) of the blockers you want enabled for each device profile. This allows you to turn on Adult blocking for children's devices but keep yours open. It is also very extensive and does a good job of blocking most ad, tracker and malware domains.

Custom filter - You can take the blockers even further by adding your own domain block-list on a per-device level. This gives you complete control over each and every device. This is very powerful and is easily built on.

Custom DNS - You can set your DNS on a per-device level. You can choose for the VPN to give you complete control to your DNS, or set your DNS and still allow the VPN to take control over certain domains in order for the channels and blocking to still work. This means you can even use your own DNS if you wanted to.

Automated server selection - When a user connects to a region they will always connect to a server with the most resources available. This completely removes the need to server-surf on the users end. They just connect to a region and they will be sure to jump on the server within that region that has the most resources available at that point in time.

All of our VPN servers run without ANY hard drives at all. We have gone to great lengths to make sure our users get the best service and the most secure one. As a VPN service - forgetting the bells and whistles - it is fast and secure with fantastic privacy.

I'll answer any questions anyone may have until the special expires.

  • I think some websites add the VPN's whole range of IPs into the banned lists, rendering it unless for the site you want to use it for…???

    • Hi ilove,

Sorry, I am not really sure what your question is. Is there something that is not working correctly for you?

      Regards,
      Peter @ OECK.

  • I signed up a few months ago and it's only dropped out once. Had to figure out I needed to create a new profile in OpenVPN to switch from Sydney to Melbourne server. A day later I switched back to the Sydney server and it worked perfectly.

Apart from that been solid for torrenting.

Very easy to spin up another login for family members to use.

Torrenting? Just how many Linux ISOs are you grabbing?

        A 30 minute porn video is 200mb.

Now the average person consumes 2 hours of porn a day that is 800mb.

But given he is an ozbargainer I'd say that he would consume 20gb of Linux distros a day.

      • The HDR10 flavour

    • Hi Mr BoMBAStiG,

Great to hear you like the service! Thank you for the upvote :)

  • I’m in the market for a VPN for RDB.

How is this compared to something like Proton or Nord?

    • Do you mean RDP? I don’t have any answers for you though, but it looks like these guys have a lot of useful features which might not be available on others. I do wonder what the difference with NordVPN is since they’re basically free, why would anyone pay for a service then if you just want to leech or something?

      • +2

You're paying for Nord you just don't know it. Depends on how much you value what you send through them.

    • Hi Patchy88,

I can't comment on Proton or Nord as I have not used them. As far as privacy goes, we own all of our own stuff ( even the routers ). Feature wise we have unique features, but as far as RDB goes we have our servers on good networks and literally don't log anything. All of our VPN servers run without a hard drive.

  • Do you have wireguard support yet?

    • Hi pranksta,

Not yet. Is there any reason you want wireguard rather than openvpn?

      Regards,
      Peter @ OECK.

      • Wireguard is newer and faster?

        • This basically, it is much faster and lightweight and I am already using it and have everything set up around it. It is built in to the linux kernel and has been the one thing stopping me from moving to OECK, it was planned in 2021 but sadly you still haven't implemented it so I haven't moved over. OpenVPN performs much worse on my router..

          • @paul04: Yeah, fair enough. OpenVPN is resource intensive, especially on some routers.

            • @OECK: Do you have any planned date that WireGuard support will be added?

              • @paul04: Hi pranksta,

We don't at this time. We have other things we need to work on prior to that. Sorry about that.

                Regards,
                Peter @ OECK.

  • Will this work for Optus Sport overseas?

    PIA does not work

    • Hi GerrardLFC,

We do not automatically unblock Optus Sport. However we can look into this for you as it shouldn't be too big of an issue to add.

      Regards,
      Peter @ OECK.

      • Hi Peter,

Just asking because I am overseas at the moment and wanted to watch the Euro Final tomorrow night.

        • Hi GerrardLFC,

We won't be able to get it running by tomorrow night :( But we will look at adding it soon.

          Regards,
          Peter @ OECK.

“ sVPN service which is aimed primarily for Australian users” vs charges in USD

    • Hi wordpickle,

The way the VPN works is something that is aimed at Australian users. We charge in USD as that is pretty standard for international customers.

      Regards,
      Peter @ OECK.

    • Don't waste your effort. OP clearly does not want to follow ozbargain rules and put aud price in title

  • I read in one of of the older reviews that Disney+, Amazon Prime Video and BBC iPlayer are not supported. Can you please confirm?

    • Hi topdealhunter,

We have added Disney+ to our automatic channels. Amazon Prime Video works, but not as part of our automatic channels, we can add this at a later date. However, BBC is not officially supported. We do have a workaround, but it is not ideal and it is not something I would call "working". It will most likely never be supported unfortunately. If you're looking for BBC access, OECK is certainly not the solution for this.

      Regards,
      Peter @ OECK.

      • Thank you for your candid response.
I don't need to use these services everyday and being able to get it to work when needed may be adequate for my situation.
The monthly discounted price is also reasonable enough to give me a good reason to try it out before making a final decision.

        • No worries. We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee, so if it isn't suitable for you, you can always just get a refund. But again, if BBC is what you're after, we are really not a good fit for you.

          Regards,
          Peter @ OECK.
