Hi,
First time poster but just want to mention it here to see what people think. For as long as I can remember, I have utilised the Optus voice-to-text for messagebank on my business mobile. This service basically takes the incoming voice message and converts it to text, so that I don't need to dial in and listen to my text massages. This saves me a huge amount of time and hassle when dealing with spam calls etc that do not leave intelligent messages etc.
I recently received an email from Optus to say that they are discontinuing this service due to lack of patronage. I made a formal complaint but was basically told that they will listen to my complaint but management had decided it was not viable. I currently pay $6.99/month for the service.
Questions:
Do any of you OzBargainers utilise this service???
Do you have any other suggestions as to who I may be able to approach to try and get tis decision reversed?
Are there any other Telcos who offer text to speech for receiving voice messages?
This service was one of the main reasons I went with Optus in the first place all those years ago. I feel betrayed!!!! Thanks for your help and opinions.
The service that converts the first 60 seconds of the voice message into text and send you the voice file and the text message? Yes I loved that service when with Optus, used to love the voice file for when the conversion was buggered up.
I've recently moved to Helstra and it just converts the voice to text. No voice file, which is a bit meh.
Anyhow I didn't pay for the service on Optus. So maybe you are using a different one?
Ok after some googling, it seems the paid service has no limit to message length unlike the free one.

Maybe try the free one? That is called Voice to MMS.
