I'm guessing someone at Logitech took one look at what they threw up after a heavy night on the piss and said "Yeah, that's a great colour for a UE Boom 3".

      more like
“hey there’s always left over ink of each colour that’s not enough to colour one whole Boom 3.
so let’s mix all those left over colours into one tin and use them to paint random colours on the last batch!”

so Wonderboom, Boom, Megaboom 4 is coming soon all with USB-C ports.

but confused as to what the Everboom is meant to be. it’s almost the same size and price as Megaboom 4 with the same size speakers inside, anyone have any more info on it??

Megaboom 4 described as “Thundering bass” while Everboom described as “Big bass”. does that mean Everboom is tuned for more bass?

    • Boom boom 💥💥💥

Yeah the marketing is pretty bad. But i guess they need to qualify/describe something that’s difficult to. Basically the bigger the speaker, the more bass it’ll be able to produce. Small ones could produce a good amount of bass when the volume is low but they won’t be able to when it’s higher (they’ll start to distort). Might be worth going into a bricks and mortar shop to try them.

      • Basically the bigger the speaker, the more bass it’ll be able to produce.

yeah I get that but here's the similarities of the two I mentioned.

Everboom: Size 205mm x 110mm x 85mm, 960g (shorter but wider in one dimension, slightly heavier). Two 56.6x56.2 mm active full range transducers and two 49.4x87 mm passive radiators. 91 dBC on the ground plane. Built-in Li-ion rechargeable battery 22.5Wh

        Megaboom4: Size 225mm x 87mm x 87mm, 935g (taller but circular in shape, slightly lighter). two 4 ohm 50mm x 50mm (2”) full range; two 55 mm x 86 mm passive radiators. 91 dBC on the ground plane. Built-in Li-ion rechargeable battery 22.5Wh

the Everboom speaker is slightly larger, but the passive radiator is slightly smaller which I think cancel each other out. only thing I can think of is maybe one is tuned for more upper bass, and the other is tuned for deeper bass??

the only difference other than that is Everboom gets BT 5.1 while Megaboom 4 is BT 5.0. also Everboom has a larger fabric loop and comes with a carabiner which does look much easier to hold onto compared to the tiny fabric loop on the Megaboom 4.
oh just found this Everboom Wireless range 55M (180 FT), Megaboom 4 Wireless range 45 M (150 FT).

but you are right best to test in store, but also make sure you place the speakers in the same spot otherwise the room can have a big affect on the sound. if the difference in sound is clear then it makes the decision easier.

        • Ah, sounds like you're all over it. That's a good comparison. I think you might be right in the difference mainly being in the tuning.

Seems pretty small, even a "little" 5in driver has about 20sq-in of area, these two have about 8sq-in. I guess if you count the passive radiators then it's up to about 16 but I don't remember my passive radiator science so not sure if it just adds up…

I do know that the newer versions of BT just have additional features and range, not so much sound quality.

            @Corgsta:

yeah I did the calculating of area after reading your comment. according to google roughly (56mm x 56mm) 3150mm squared is about 4.8 inch squared. but it's got two of them (speakers).
but gotta remember they are circular speakers, so take a little area out of the corners and not sure which word to use here but it's either convex or concave probably so taking out a bit less than you would think. so maybe it's equal more to around 4 inch squared.

some BT speakers do have square speakers and oval shaped speakers though so this doesn't always apply but yeah.

yeah the newer BT 5.1 of Everboom must explain the extra 10m range.

    • Wait what? The wonderboom 4 was released like a couple months ago with micro USB, are they already releasing another model?

      • I thought the Wonderboom 4 was USB-C?

        • Sorry that bit was a typo, i did mean wonderboom 3 my mistake.

      • Wonderboom 4 expected to ship on 22/7/24 and is USB-C.

  • Very pity Boom 3 and Megaboom 3 don't have microphone

  • What’s the normal price?
