Strava Premium Family Plan A$169.99 Annually for up to 4 Subscription Accounts @ Strava

130

Strava has released its family plan which makes an annual subscription (usually $99) work out to $42.50 per person if you get together a group of four people.

You don’t have to be at all related, just be registered in the same country. If you are a current subscriber, it sounds like you need to cancel your current plan first.

This must be the best value Strava sub going around now since I was forced to move home from Türkiye.

Anyone want to join a family 😀

    • +1

      I'll join your family :)

    • I'll jump on too if a genuine offer. PM is open.

        I'm keen as well.

        • Any spots in a “family” still available? I’m interested.

          • @reep: I'm keen to join a family if anyone's got a spot

  • I think I am still on the free premium atm.
I've paid in the past to support them, but then covid, and didn't ride so much.
I also think dark mode isn't something I would pay money for…

      Dark mode is free anyway

I know, but it only just come now, and I don't consider it something that I thought is high priority given the lack of development over the past few years.
They also gave and pulled so many features over time, I'm not sure where the value is paying for it.

        • dark mode is trivial to implement anyway, idk why so few bother to implement it, but for sure it didn't take up much developer time anyway - they're just not building stuff

I've never bothered to pay because it's not that essential to me

  • What are some of the most widely used premium features ??

    • +1

Automatic route mapping is a big subscriber only feature

    • I like the "matched runs" feature where you just click a link in your activity to see all efforts for that particular course you have taken. You can get similar data on Garmin's website but this is just simple. Handy if training for an event and want to monitor your improvement.

  • How does the sign up work? Individual payments or is it billed to one person?

    • Billed to one person I believe

      • Damn, would make it awkward for a group buy with randoms.

        • +1

Not really. That's pretty standard for shared family subs (plenty of threads / forum posts on this for shared Spotify, Office365 subs, etc.). One person just pays, everyone else sends money via PayID or similar. You get added to family once money is received. Relatively low risk. I'd be surprised if there were many scammers out there trying to grab $20-50 from someone on ozbargain on a shared family sub.

          • @ts13: Exactly my thoughts. For a few years I was coordinating membership for a Nintendo family under my account. No issues with payment and members had no issues with me.

  • Anyone know of any ways to get the individual plan discounted? Just can't bring myself to fork out the full $99/yr

    • +1

Discounted Apple gift cards is the only way I’ve figured. Unless you happen to be a can swing a student discount

      • Able to*

      Or Google Play cards.
