390

To all Weet-Bix fans, you need a pair of these cosy Weet-Bix slippers!
Grab your FREE Weet-Bix slippers when you buy any TWO Weet-Bix products in one transaction in-store at participating IGA stores. While Stocks Last.

The cheapest Weet-Bix seems to be 375g for about $3.50 (depending on location).
2 x $3.50 = $7 for a pair of iconic slippers which seems great value.
Customers on social media have mentioned that the slippers are available in kids and adult sizes.
These slippers in a different design sell for $19.95 in the Weet-Bix store: https://weetbix.com.au/product/weet-bix-slippers/

I rang both Sanitarium Weet-Bix and IGA head office to confirm that this offer is available.
T&Cs on the Weet-Bix web page state 2023 as the year of the promotion but it's a misprint.
Also kids size is available but not stated on the web page.

IGA stores on social media that mentioned this offer recently include:

  • Foodies Market IGA Lynwood WA
  • Ritchies IGA Coffs Harbour NSW
  • Ritchies IGA Mount Waverley VIC (I rang store and confirmed stock)
  • Cornetts Supermarkets QLD
  • Everfresh Food Market, Mango Hill QLD

Perfect timing. Attending a funeral Monday.

Sorry to hear but hope you find some stock

      • +8

Thanks. No funeral. Had to make up that lie for the sake of the lame joke as I couldn't come up with anything better. Now I'm faced with the additional problem of crashing a random funeral in Monday so I feel better within myself, knowing I haven't mislead the very fine ozbargain community that I love. 😭

        • Ha ha I wasn't sure lol. Just crash the funeral wake and enjoy the food. I met someone who used to crash wakes regularly in NZ.

          • +2

@trixieb: Seems so much harder to pull it off in NZ. Rocks up. "Where's the chilly bin, bro? Choice."

        • Haha, i laughed at your lame joke, so it cant be that lame. Is it because the slippers look like death?

Just kidding. I havent browsed the other designs. Maybe theres a nice design in there.

Edit: ah. The other design which does look nice..ish is paid. Oh well. Good deal, free slippers, whats not to like. Upvoted

@JOZL: @seamonkey It's a brilliant idea. You're onto something. Would brighten up any funeral!

Life is either a comic tragedy or a tragic comedy.

Edit: Who is wearing this to work?

            • +1

@trixieb: 😂🤣 life is probably both.

Who is wearing this to work?

Sanitarium Health and Wellbeing Company employees - part of their corporate wardrobe.

          • @JOZL: The humour for me has always been that ridiculous idea of wearing the most inappropriate attire to the most serious of human ceremonies. Dream of it from time to time.

            • @seamonkey: Well these shoes would certainly fit the bill for your intended purpose 😁

  • +3

Instructions unclear, wearing Weet Bix and eating slippers

    • +4

No worries, Easy mistake to make. You just need to add milk.

    • Probably a better option taste wise.

  • +1

    @tightarse Is this befitting? Lol

@ULT To all Melbournians (Any Ritchies IGA participate in this promo)

I rang Ritchies IGA Mount Waverley (03) 9888 2399 and they have stock of the slippers

The Promotion commences at the time the participating stores displays the promotional materials (estimated to begin on or about 19 June 2023) and ending when the stocks of Gifts are exhausted (the Promotional Period).

Surprised any slippers left after a year.

    • Ha ha Big Misprint!

    • Sleeper deal.

Perfect, will match my weetbix bowl from 2018, still going strong

  • Perfect for walking to the bathroom after such a fibre rich diet

7th Day adventists are generous with 50 pairs per store

    • Was waiting for this comment 😆Yup. They’re cashed up enough lol

      • Had to put Something, always surprised people don't know.

I wonder if these are tax free at the checkout?

        • Good question. I assume you’re not making a tithing joke here

GST is supposed to be on value added items right? And not on raw foods. Im gonna guess yes to GST because the wheat grains have gone thru a fair bit of processing, but i could be wrong.

Is cereal GST free? God, i havent bought cereal for years. I wouldnt know

Speaking of which. Kelloggs apparently got some 7th day origin too.

          • @JOZL: Real question.

Some food / supermarket items we don't pay tax on, yet…

  • I have these, max size is XL (43-45)

On a scale of 1 to I'm going to smack you with these for not doing what i say, these will leave a 4 out of 10 mark.

Very flimsy, not much too them

    • Good to know the slippers are gentle on the skin :)

    • Asian parents not approved!

      • True lol they might not even have enough weight to hurl at someone, haha kidding. (Laughs in childhood trauma)

Had a quick flick through the terms and conditions:

    1. Parent or Guardian Approval
You must have your parent or guardian’s approval to enter if you are under 18 years old.

Australia- old enough to drive at 16. But not to get a pair of free slippers.

    • +1

Min age of 18 years old seems to be a standard rule for entering competitions or participating in freebies in Aus, UK and USA when I checked.

  • slippers? SLIPPERS?

The only acceptable cereal wear is black bovver boots.
