Jetstar Return Fares: Melbourne-Krabi (Thailand) Fr $277, MEL-Clark (Philippines) Fr $330 (Fly Jul-May) @ Beat That Flight

533

Jetstar Asia has some great prices out of Singapore, timing with Jetstar Aus flights to there. As a result, some of the lesser populated but awesome destinations are showing up as cheaper ways to enter a country. I've personally visited Ko Lanta island nearby, and there are boats from there to other islands as well.

All fares include 7kg carry on luggage.

Melbourne to Krabi, Thailand

Dates: 23 Jul 24 - 30 Jun 25

Melbourne to Clark (Luzon), Philippines

Dates: 15 Jul 24 - 30 Jun 25

In case you were wondering where in Luzon, it's at Clark Airport near Angeles City, about 100km north of Manila.

    • Came to ask wtf, where on Luzon. Why didn't they just say Clarke ?

Aren't they building a train line ? Clark to Manila?

      • +1

Train line still under construction, now due 2028/29, or whenever..

    • apologies, it's in the body now

    • Thanks. Saved me 2 second Google Search! Much Appreciated lol

Luggage is always such a killer. Minimum $100 added on per flight, so add $200 to any listed price.

    • +1

I thought Jetstar got done for drip pricing a while back but looks like they’re at it again (+ for bags, + for food, + for entertainment, + for tax, + for fees, + …)

Anybody here experience a Krabi flight with Jetstar before?

    • +1

Yes, I was on the first flight of this new route from Singapore to Krabi last month. No delays there or back.
It was low season in Krabi but plenty of people on both flights MEL > SG and SG > Krabi.

      • You've just been jv'd.

  • Carry-on: 1 item per person*

    7 or 10 kgs?

    • 7kgs is the standard allowance in Economy.

You can pay additional to increase carry on allowance to 14kgs.

  • None for Sydney? Why Melbourne only?

    • +3

Sydney people only travel in qantas

      • Sydney gets cebu Pacific and the Excellent A330-900 get the extra legroom seats near the doors

24 hour stopover in S'pore may not suit some but could be worthwhile to get out and check out S'pore for the day.

    • -8

      stopover in S'pore

Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months, otherwise you'll get sent back…

      • Hahhahaha. Sent back for free?

        • -1

Well, you paid to get to your destination and you won't get that back, so you have an interesting definition of 'free'…

      • +4

        Yes and no.

If you try and enter Singapore, you will be denied access into the country and forced to wait airside.

If you only stay airside and past immigration which you will as departing and arriving passengers are not separated unlike Australia you will have no issues in connecting onwards to your Australia bound flight.

And before you try and bullshit some sort of comment, just because you arrive on an international flight does not make you "enter" Singapore. That only occurs when you clear inbound immigration.

If you try and enter Singapore, you will be denied access into the country and forced to wait airside.

A friend recently had to change travel plans/flights and avoid Singapore because the airline told them they would not be able to change planes at Singapore.
They only found out a day or two before the flight so could not get a new passport.

          • +3

@jv: Probably due to the fact that two different airlines were involved without a baggage interline agreement.

I have had no issues on using my Australian Passport to re-enter Australia with 2 months left until expiry. Departed from Zurich, transited in Singapore for 4 hours and continued to Melbourne, no issues at check in or during the transit process.

Could be, but Singapore told them they needed to have passports > 6 months to be able to make their connection.

              • +1

@jv: Then the final country most likely needed the 6 month expiry and not Singapore as they would have been transiting.

No, Japan did not have this requirement.

            • @AircraftFreight:

using my Australian Passport to re-enter Australia

Probably because you were flying home and not outbound…

              • +1

@jv: Im using your example of needing 6 months to enter Singapore

Yes, it was outbound, going to Japan…

                  • +1

@jv: Japan has does not have the 6 month minimum passport validity date rule. Just needs to be valid up until the return flights departure and the passengers arrival into their home country.

Dont know who told them to avoid Singapore and as to why.

                    • @AircraftFreight:

Dont know who told them to avoid Singapore and as to why.

Singapore airlines did, and it was confirmed by their travel agent.

                      • +6

@jv: SQ is wrong and so is the travel agent. Per the Singaporean Ministry of Foreign Affairs "You cannot enter Singapore if you have less than six months validity remaining on your passport at the time of your date of arrival to Singapore. For transits, you can transit if you do not need to pass through immigration in Singapore, and remain in the transit lounge while in transit."

    • Just say Singapore bro

  • So you get checked through? Or have to exit immigration and back through again?

    • +2

Luggage will be checked through JQ->3K

You dont have to exit immigration if yop dont want to

  • It's gonna be monsoon…

  • Probs best to change title to MEL-CRK. MEL-Luzon does not make any sense at all.

  • Adding bags on these weird websites like budget air, gotogate etc is $146 vs $80 ish directly on Jetstar. But the flights are more expensive directly on Jetstar. Can you book the flight on the third party website and add baggage later directly through Jetstar?

    • Are those other sites legit? I think some are if they have been around a while but i reckon I’d keep clear of some.

      • I have used some before. I think if anything goes wrong or you need to make changes your screwed.

But this time they are the only option showing the good prices, it was $200 more direct through Jetstar, but then the cheap third party website prices they are advertising don't actually exist anyway.

SpongeBob must be living near Krabi!

When you go to pay they jack up the prices…

    Pretty bs.

    • +2

Wasted my whole night trying to find a price that actually exists. Conclusion, none they're all fake prices.

      • +1

Same here. I wasted my whole evening and I have bothered so many people about day offs.
After putting down all information, card number included, the price went up like crazy.
This kind of deal should not be allowed !

        • +1

Update - after arguing about price changes with go to gate. Quoted $1382 charged $2084…

I initiated a charge back for the first time ever with CBA. After multiple calls to g2g, (being hung up on and being outright lied to) “don’t worry sir the airline will refund all the money I promise you, you call them now’ nothing we can do.

The other was - its dynamic price. The airline make the price not us.

I’ve been conned by Edreams once before. I hate these companies…

In any case - same price booking on Jetstar.com…

25 hours min to Luzon with flights to 45 hours plus. No thanks.

  • +2

Id also add - beatthatflight should be suspended from ozbargain for time wasting and fake deals.

  • +2

I always take these deals at face value, then go straight to the airline's website to see what they are offering. At least there is a level of trust to work from there.

  • Love Thailand

  • none of the pricing listed here exists even on their website
