I heard in 2018 Amazon usa will stop working in Aus and can only use Amazon Au, does this mean the only way I can purchase anything and having it sent to me in Aus is using VPN and ship forwarder?

Still cheaper than freight forwarder.
They also charge GST on the goods and higher shipping.
The forwarder we use does not add GST.
Oh wow. Hopshopgo add it. Can I get the name? Might save me some money. Ta
In 2024 I logged into my Amazon.com account and it showed me which items ship to Australia and what fees apply. For items that only ship domestically in the US, you may find MyUS fees are somewhat pricey.
Some items won't ship from Amazon US probably because of postage I'd guess. Shame because there are things on Amazon and in the US in general that are dirty cheap, but here are considered exotic and cost like 4x as much, at least.
What are you trying to buy? You really need to weigh up the costs so that is conversion form USD to AUD, shipping costs from the forwarder and paying GST. If you are saving less than say $100-200 for the SAME item with a warranty in Australia IMO it isn’t worth it.
Our sweet ACL warranty is worth the extra $$ not to mention if there is an issue even with in the US warranty the same company might not tough it. Amazon AU will sell some Amazon US items. This means you are buying through a AU store.

Hope their despatch times are more efficient than your research skills…
You can still order on Amazon.com to deliver to you in Australia but they tack on GST and relatively high shipping charges.
