Seiko 5 GMT SSK023K Automatic Stainless Steel Watch $385 Delivered ($20 off with VIP Club Signup) @ Watch Depot

270

I want this but price is still too high. Found this instead.

I bought this: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/847030 and put an engineer bracelet on it. it's pretty good value for a GMT.

This one has a bracelet and $385-20 is a the cheapest I've seen unless you managed to get one from Shiels for $350 using a voucher.

speaking of speedtimers, whats your take on the 'new' pogue speedtimer? (SSC947)

Remember speedtimer? It's back, in Pogue form!

Seiko has hit a fkn home run with all those models, can't exactly do any wrong either way haha.
I would still only spend up to a point on them though.

Even at that price , couldn’t justify with accuracy like that !
Seiko claims that the accuracy of calibre 4R34 is adjusted at the factory to keep the time between +45 / -35 seconds per day.

      • You'd be unlucky to get a 4R34 that performs that badly. It's all a bit moot anyway with automatics (in rotation in your collection) as you need to set them each time anyway, unless it's your only watch you wear every day.

PS Solar quartz keeps great time.

        • Indeed , solar quartz is a great option.

Great price and highly recommended. Only a bit better than the Shiels price - $150 - $20 cashback (~$340)
Very good daily watch and solid so you don't need to be too precious with it.

That SSC939P colourway is very nice, in the bigger size, 41.4mm (the 39mm is a perfect fit on me personally though)

I had a look at the SSC939P Speedtimer last night. It looks even better IRL. Really nice colour coordination. The bezel colour is beautiful.

@rosebank No, you want this one

(and yes the Pogue colourway is nice too)

That's what I was thinking. It's too much for no sapphire.
Orients are great they wear very well, thinner than a lot of other watches.
They have actually been to Japan as well vs a lot of Seikos.

        • There's 2 left. I think I might cop. It's bigger than the red Samurai but half the price

          • @rosebank: Yeah I would they are great quality, a date window you can actually read, made in Japan.
They will both look like a red watch haha.

I got the teal one, will have to wear again soon. If you can be bothered, the long island jube really finishes the watch and is perfect.
