I just bought the $14 mic (in store officeworks bayswater, 2 left on the shelf), haven't tested it, seems cheap, might work.

      Well I paid about the same for a junk AliExpress one and it works alright. Probably similar mic quality with bonus RGB. It also looks a bit more sturdy

  In store showed the $9 one was $52.99 previously.
  Have ordered $14 one for click and collect at a different store. Main use is going to be cheap work meeting mic. Already have a Razer Siren mini at home and that works pretty well for WFM. Mute button is a bonus on the $14 version.

  Oh wow, for $9 it's certainly worth a shot.
  I just ordered C&C at Officeworks in Fyshwick for anyone in Canberra who might be interested. I believe they probably have about 4 left.
