We posted this price drop in the other deal, but it has had enough of a take up that we figured it was worth posting on its own.

    Great price for a great ultrabook. It's a shame I can't justify the purchase :-(
    As a matter of interest, is there any difference at all between this (the A01AU) and the A03AU, besides OS?
    Oh, and you may want to note: you spelled 'integrated' wrong.

      Nice catch on the inteRgrated spelling. These models are exactly the same, hence you can just use the win 8 upgrade program to save a fair amount.

        The spelling is the same on (at least) all the other Samsung ultrabooks, too, just so you know.
        And thanks for clarifying the difference in models (or lack thereof).

        I think there is a slight difference between the two models, one of them has TPM. Correct me if i'm wrong.

          As far as I was aware TPM is implemented on the board in the chipset and these both have the same chipset. So unless there is some sort of software requirement as well then they should both have it. I have not been able to actually confirm that though yet unfortunately.

          Edit: The A01 I can confirm does not have it, but then there seems to be some info regarding driver releases, so I am thinking maybe this could be a software difference potentially.

    Is there any reason for the price reduction? Is this discontinued due to the windows 8 version?

    Looking to buy in a couple on months and wondering if prices will get lower than this in the mean time.

      Just clearing the windows 7 stock. The windows 8 upgrade program ends at the end of Jan, so these need to be sold by then which won't be an issue at this price obviously.

      But you definitely won't see these any cheaper than this, the stock will be gone before then. You could wait for a clearance price on the A03 in 4-5 months time, but again it will not be much lower than this if at all.

      You can yes, but they are Msata and we don't have stock. We will be bringing in 256GB msata modules soon though which will be about $250ish inc GST.

      Yes you can…Just not the memory on the 13" models.

      It was pretty painless doing it on the 15" model.
