[RESOLVED] Why can't I buy anything from AliExpress

OzBargain regularly has deals from AliExpress.

I saw one I was interested in. So I registered. And bought it, or should I say, tried to.

It was in my trolley. I selected to pay using PayPal. I went out to pay using PayPal, and went through the process successfully. It sent me back to AliExpress' "Please Confirm Your Order" screen. But for the wife of me I couldn't find a button or anything else on that screen to do that. All I could do was close that window, at which point I found I hadn't either purchased anything or been charged anything by PayPal. The only evidence I'd tried was an email from PayPal asking if I wanted to stay logged in on that device.

Now I'm registered with AliExpress they are sending me emails. I saw something else I would have liked. Went through the purchase and payment process, and ended up at the same place, being asked to confirm my order on a screen that I couldn't see was offering me any way to do that. Wondering if it was something to do with the Edge browser on my main Windows 10 PC not displaying a control I needed to see, I tried Chrome. Same. Wondering if it was something to do with that PC, I tried it on another PC running Windows 11. Same.

Someone who uses AliExpress, tell me what I'm supposed to do in that "Please Confirm Your Order" screen to do that.

  • hmm m check country, currency & address , give it a fresh go log out and log in again.
    I use it on tablet app and never had any issues.

  • Had similar issue last night and after two returns to the payment screen from PayPal I checked address and details and again pressed PayPal for payment….. changed currency to $US yet again on PayPal and sent back to payment screen…. After a bit a swirly thing appeared in middle and order confirmed!

    Edit: I was using safari on an iPad.

    Edge (or Chrome) on Windows 10 should be fine, so maybe a pop-up blocker, or you haven't setup your postal address in Ali. Is your PayPal ok, do you pay on other sites with PayPal?

      Thanks, that is one I'll investigate. I was assuming they got it from PayPal.

      You can also try a web browser with no addons. Incognito (or similar feature) should work, but I like to have a clean web browser for troubleshooting.

  • You can turn off unwanted emails in your account settings.
