Does This Ayurvedic Tea Contain Only 0.1g of Herbs in 4 G Packet, and Rest All Is Cane Sugar?

So I saw this Ayurvedic tea on Amazon to boost immunity and prevent cold and cough in this chilly weather. It seems to have good blend of 14 ayurvedic herbs - but checking the amount per serve image in amazon, it says:

3.9gms of sugar in a 4 gms sachet.

Am I reading it correctly, does it have 3.9 gms of cane sugar in a 4 gms sachet, and only 0.1gms of herbs?

If it is then it is a scam to sell this in the name of Ayurvedic herbs!

Below it seems to say 65 mg of herbs

    • yes, checked that. I am ok with less mgs of herbs but not ok with taking 3.9gms of sugar - so will skip it!

So what's the scam here, that you're unhappy with the amount of sugar in your homeopathy?

You'd be better off with some tea and a teaspoon of honey anyway. Much cheaper too. Also high in sugar though.

Even if it was full of herbs, hot water infused with 4g of herb extracts wouldn't fix your immune problems anyway, and one teaspoon of sugar won't kill you.

It's just snake oil. Just keep believing and enjoy your tea.

      • he's pissed that it contains more sugar than lead. lead is worth way more than sugar

That's almost a spoonful of sugar.

    • I knew where this was going but I still clicked :(

oh, the irony of crying foul about fake/impure ayurvedic herbs …

  • Hmmm, vitamin C has similar sugar content. People still take that and it helps. I would try it and see if it helps. Some expensive herbs in that list.

    • I have tried it before(3 years back) and it was good. But thought of ordering today and realized that it is 99% sugar. I don't think Vitamin C has 99% cane sugar

      • Yeah, think it's kind of like when you give ice cream to sick/recovering people. People would say it's unhealthy, but they need quick energy. Perhaps the sugar is to make the body uptake the herbs? Also, just trying certain ayurvedic herbs may be bad/antagonistic to your issue. Best to consult with someone.

  • and only 0.1gms of herbs?

    and that's rounded up, 65mg is 0.065g
