Cheaper Option for USB C Charger for iPad PRO 5th Gen

Hi, I am looking for cheaper options than paying $50 per 2m cable for USB C to C from Apple.

When my niece and nephew come, they play with device charged in sometimes I bought them this cable not even three months ago, I have my own but I rather not keep lending it to them as I can see it’s starting to bend. Are there any other cheaper options which won’t hurt the device and will charge the same?

If I have to buy another Apple cable I will but rather not these kids just don’t listen unfortunately lol

With the Apple devices with usb there is no issues with using non Apple products. Use the search function and you will find deals for usb cables. Often can get 2 for $12 ect

    • Just as long as its USB-C and not USB-A connection to charger.

Many USB-A cables are falsely being advertised as fast charging cables.

  • The $50 apple cable is rated at 240W which is enough to power a higher power device like a MacBook Pro.

Lower wattage USB-PD charging cables can safely be used because the charger will lower the output to match the cable's maximum power rating. A cheaper 60W cable is should be sufficient to power the iPad Pro.

  • my 3 kids have iphones, my eldest also has an ipad 10.

I've been buying my chargers and 2m cables from aliexpress - from the 3 from US $2.99 with Free shipping · 10-day delivery

can't post direct links as that "shopping experience" doesn't allow it.

there is a blue 2m usb extension cable for ~$4.50
and there is also a $2 Original 20W PD USB Type C to Lighting Fast Charger
I've bought the yellow square charging block (with USB-a + USB-C outputs) bought the american 2 prong plug and and just used pliers to "adjust" the prongs to Aus power point. it's been going strong for 9 months as my evening charger - and fast charges.

there is also lightening cables available of varies links from this choice shipper

  • Normal usb-c cable does the job. I use non genuine cables that’s from Amazon works fine.

I wouldn’t trust it on a MacBook Pro but iPad no issue.

Otherwise look for a Dell or Lenovo or other branded laptop USB-C charger from the market place. 45w can be found for around $20 or less. And they are good quality.
