KrisFlyer Elite Silver: Extra 10kg or 1 Piece Luggage Allowance & Priority Boarding @ Singapore Airlines & Scoot

140

If you are a Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer Elite Silver, you now get an extra 10kg (weight system) or 1 piece (piece system) of luggage across all classes when you travel on Singapore Airlines. The piece concept applies to and from the USA only.

You also get the extra 10kg when travelling on their low cost airline Scoot, but only if you are transferring to or from a Singapore Airlines flight. KrisFlyer Elite Silver travelling on standalone Scoot itineraries will still get the standard 5kg extra allowance when you purchase 20kg of allowance.

This benefit does not extend to flying with other Star Alliance carriers as that is dependant on Star Alliance Gold, not Silver.

KrisFkyer Elite Silver will also get priority boarding, being allowed to board at the same time as premium economy, KrisFlyer Elite Gold and Star Alliance Gold members.

Oh wow a silver membership with actual perks rather than just a name!

  • Agree, Silver rarely gets anything

That said, if I was KrisFlyer or Star Alliance gold I’d be pretty unimpressed queuing up behind silver!!

    • For Velocity at least, Silver still gets extra baggage allowance fwiw

How are you going to even know that…

Whole point of having gold is to stay in the lounge while everyone else fights over who gets to be packed into a sardine can first lol

what makes this a deal? it's both long running and not directly actionable. it's a good perk but seems like a general PSA more appropriate for the forums?

  • Anyone know if there is an Ombudsman for Krisflyer ?

I used 45k points in the KF store. They cancelled the order 4 weeks later.. but kept my points (as they are past there prior expiry date). Obviously in date when I placed the order.

    Dodgey…

    • did you call them?

      • Email… Asked for it to be escalated to a complaint.
They said normally refunded points get given an extra 6 months. But since I paid to extend them 3 months ago (which I did - 1200 pts per 10000), they can't give another extension??

Was waiting on NZ availability to come back. There was zero flights..so "wasted" my points up in the KF shop.

    • Social media is your best bet. Singapore consumer protection is basically non-existent.
