Question about Techfast Warranty

Hi guys, I recently picked up a 4060 ITX build from TechFast during their May deal., and the machine arrived around mid-June.

Everything was fine when I first set up the OS. I haven't touched it much since then, as this ITX build is more of a secondary computer for me.

Today, I decided to install some drivers and run some tests on the machine, but it keeps getting BSODs with the error "video scheduler internal error" in both Windows 10 22H2 and Windows 11 23H3 builds. Initially, I thought the SSD might be faulty since the machine was extremely laggy, even just moving the mouse around. However, after switching to a new SSD I had purchased earlier, the problem persisted. I then reinstalled the system with both Windows 10 and 11, and eventually, I realized the issue arises after installing any Nvidia driver. This is frustrating, as I've never encountered such a weird issue in my past PC-building experience. I'm 99% sure the graphics card is faulty, especially since the monitor flickers after the driver is installed.

Now, I'm curious about TechFast's warranty service and whether they'll charge me for shipping if I have to send the whole unit back. This is my first time buying a pre-built machine because the value seemed great. However, it seems to have been a mistake, and I can see why pre-builts are so cheap.

Have you contacted Techfast? My understanding from the ACL is that they need to arrange collection for large items. They might allow you to just send back the item to Nvidia since it isn’t the entire computer that is faulty

    • Yeah i do. But I just not sure how techfast actually handle things like this. Last time I asking something on the delivery date, I remember it takes quite a long time to reply….

Give them a call in the morning, or message him on here.
Im sure they will tell you

from a post in that thread
If there are any issues requiring warranty/repair where is Techfast located?
transit both ways is covered in event of warrantable fault

    • ok thanks for the info. because when i read their site, their word on warranty delivery cost is a bit vague…

  • By ACCC law, the retailer has to pay for shipping for warranty.

  • Techfast did not charge me for delivery when I had to return the graphics card. I provided supporting evidence that the card was faulty and after they trouble shooted, they agreed. Great service.

    • May I ask what evidence do you provide? And also how long it take Techfast to respond the ticket send from their site?

  • As you said it is working BEFORE the drivers update. Make sure the drivers are suitable for your card. Download the drivers from the Video Card Manufacturer (or latest "stable" version from Nvidia website if the card is unbranded).

    • The system will only work if there is no driver installed. Eg, like you are running your monitor at 30hz. As soon as the any version driver installed(I use Geforce Experience, so its offical latest driver), the whole build become laggy as hell and BSOD randomly. Unless their gpu is dedicated and require a special driver to run it properly, I don't see how normal Nvidia driver will not running properly.

  • Did you try installing an earlier GPU driver or rolling back? Might be a specific driver issue.

    • I try latest, and the one before latest one. Both has serious laggy issue and casue BSOD. Literally the system will become unstable after I install any gpu driver.

I'd ship the whole lot back. Could just as easily be a RAM or PSU issue as well with those symptoms. Even software issue.

    • Don't think its software issue as I have install different os mutiple time. But PSU or motherboard definetly can be faulty or even the graphic card connector…Waiting for techfast response for now…

      • Either way, it's their problem to fix.

  • i bought the same itx deal. jump into the bios and make sure the pci lane is set to 3.0 not 4.0
    that fixed it for me.

    • wow, thanks for the info. Didn't even think about this.

    • Never mind, I just went to the bios and couldn't even see my pcie device over there. Only thing I can change is the m2 device. Do you use the asus motherboard or the maxsun one?

  • I’m literally in the process of this right now with Techfast. They don’t charge you to have something shipped back and handle all that stuff themselves especially since it seems to be a faulty part causing your issue (same boat).

So long as you are within your warranty and have tried to troubleshoot with them over email, then if the problem still can’t be solved then they will pay for you to ship the pc back. The only thing you might have to pay for is packaging if you don’t have all the original stuff.

    • Thanks for the info. The issues are addressed for now after further diagnose. But glad to know the postage is been paid by techfast when doing warranty return.
