NineNow Apps at Smart TV

We got back from holidays 2-weeks ago and now trying to catch-up with Channel 9. Been trying for 2-days and there's no way we can get it back!

What happened? It's not in the TV Apps Store, and can't find anything when we logged in via browser on our TV.

We're shocked and hope someone can help us out.

Thanks heaps and looking forward.

  • What TV have you got?

    We're shocked

Wait until you hear about what's going on in Ukraine. It will be overwhelming by comparison.

Maybe your TV updated itself while you were gone. You should be using something like an Apple TV or Nvidia Shield anyway. That way whenever you update your TV all the apps and everything are the same as before, you and your wife don't need to learn anything new. And you can take the device with you on holiday so you won't need to learn anything new at the hotel you're at either.

    Did you search for 9Now?

    • Yes I did, https://help.9now.com.au/hc/en-au/articles/34314052722841-Is…
Based on my quick read, our TV should be compatible….
But I'm not expert in this. Pls help if you can decipher.

BTW, here's an article from Reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/samsung/comments/18x5ovu/samsung_sm…
      Looks like I'm not alone….

I have been trying to install in the last few days but to no avail.
Looks like I need to contact Nine, or buy a new TV?
It's sad because everything is fine with the TV

      • The 9Now site says the app is compatible with Samsung TVs that were manufactured from 2018 onwards. I'm not 100% sure if your TV meets that requirement.

I noticed there is a new firmware upgrade for your TV released in June 2024. You can download it from this page (scroll down). You will need to copy it onto a USB drive and then plug it into your TV to perform the upgrade.

If that doesn't fix the problem, then you can still keep your TV and just use another device to access the apps. Buy something like a Google Chromecast with Google TV device, Amazon Firestick or an Apple TV.

        • Thanks so much for your sharing. I now have to find the FirmWare.
It is quite frustrating with Tech these days. I paid good money for Miele thinking they would last 20-years, and today I was told I might have to get rid of it after 4-years. Not happy.
Ditto to Samsung. There's nothing wrong with the TV at all, but not able to install the Nine App is certainly a pain in the xx!

          Oh First World Country Problem!!!
