Energy - Gas and Electricity Bargain Deal

Hi All,

After moving to a new house in Sydney South we found our Energy Retailer Energy Australia stuffing up our electricity and Gas bills for months. We moved to Glow Bird for Gas and monthly gas payments are a pain as we prefer quarterly.
However, the electricity bills are really bad.
With so many deals going on like AGL post can someone please find us a bargain with our electricity or gas provider?

Worth mentioning:
-we have smart electricity meter and can see consumption on our mobile 48 hours to update
- 13.8kWh solar panels installed recently

$0.381788 per kWh
$0.962500 per day
0.07c solar buy back to grid
13% discount on bills.

Could you please recommend where we can go next or are we getting the best deal?

    My smart electricity meter is new and I can’t find anything to compare to the government website.

    Do you guys know if the AGL offer fuel voucher is giving away similar rates and I can switch over?

    “ Something went wrong
    Your NMI has less than 12 months of data as you may have either moved or switched to a smart meter recently”

      Click "Compare without your NMI" and then under "Enter your energy usage manually" to enter details from your bill

        I’ll try this tonight. Is this the most accurate way to switch ie it gives you the deals that is being offered by retailers like sign on bonus $250 etc?

      Thanks, tried that looks\feels like a scam site, are you sure it's legit?
      Missing lots of plans, but then again the official government one doesn't show my current plan and a number of other offers either. Shame I don't live in Victoria where all PLANS must be made publicly available.

        totally legit.

        It's a small outfit trying to establish themselves but if you have solarPV it's better than the government sites

          Ahh thanks, yes I have solar. Sign of the times when the two lowest providers for my area are petrol companies, Ampol Energy and PowerShop(Shell)

    I checked out the government comparison site, and the rates it gave for my current provider were much higher than what I actually pay, rendering the site pretty useless for me. Anyone else have the same experience?

      Yes I agree. That gov site is BS. Doesn’t include discounts etc

      same issue, it only gives you the provider current best price. I can't seem to find the plan that I am actually on for comparison

      Yep same, even doesn't have many of the "deals" on offer. Quite strange. Unless you live in Victoria, then all the plans are shown.

      Mine is the opposite. gov comparison site shows all the current plans for my retailer - cheaper supply charge and higher solar feed in tariff. Better deals. Looks like after 30 days of sign up they changed me onto a special extra high price deal where I get a higher daily supply charge and worse single rate. Seems to be the base strategy of many retailers, bait and switch. Where above average solar feed in tariffs are suddenly outstripped by inflated charges, particularly daily supply charge but also usage.
