Accor Plus Discovery - AUD 448 AUD (Instead of 498) PER YEAR

I want to renew my Accor Plus membership and I am looking at options (MY, HK, etc.)

However, I found on the AU website the Discovery option discounted.

I am hesitant pulling the trigger as I found conflicting information on what I can do with the 500 Discovery Dollars.
Some sites say pay your hotel with it, others say you can book cruises and tours.

Does anyone of you have / had Discovery Dollars? What did you do with them? Easy to use?

If I can pay for my hotel nights with them … that makes the membership technically free.

Too good to be true, right?

    I've concluded it's not worth the $50 extra I paid.

    Discovery dollars can basically only be used on the portion of the price that they price above other sellers :/

    Thanks for all the feedback. That is exactly what I was thinking. Just that I cant see the offers before I sign up is a red flag.

    Confusingly, GHA also uses "Discovery Dollars" terminology which appears to be completely unrelated.

      Ahhh, good find. That's probably where I read that you can use these Dollars towards your hotel bookings.
