Just thought I'd add this here for posterity in case anyone is looking for the info like I was.
We've had an LG GF-V706BSL fridge for about 3.5 years. Really love the fridge so I was disappointed when I came home from work the other night to find an error code displayed on panel.
Error code was "CHE" which apparently translates to "We made a significant design error in our compressor and we're hoping most of them will get beyond the 5 years warranty period".
Anyway, put in a service request to LG and to their credit, as soon as I was able to rustle up the receipt they covered the original inspection service call, as well as the replacement of the compressor. I now have a working fridge again.
I had a good chat with the service technician and he mentioned that it is really worthwhile to clean out the dust off the radiator once a year, much less likely to have a problem. There's three screws to undo on the bottom back panel, then just clean the dust out with a brush and vacuum.
Thought I'd share with the hive mind.
This confirms my suspicion that LG makes crap fridges, amongst other things.
