Audit/Change Your Elec and Gas Retailers - Cause July VIC - plans/factsheets have been updated

for ex for me Lumo is the most cheapest plan now since 1st July.

Yet to check new Gas plans but thought I'd broadcast this out esp when I'm avg 20kWh a day in Melbourne.

edit: use https://wattever.com.au/ for compare as it compares ALL the retailers and the plans get updated daily as they provide wholesale pricing to retailers aka their main business. You create an account - not necessary - and complete your elec and gas profiles based on usage, postcode and tariff then you can use it all year long and compare 40+ retailers in one hit. I'm a fan!

edit2 -
Most energy prices are changing from July 1. We expect it will take 7 days for WATTever to update over 5,000 plan. So, we recommend comparing plans after Monday 8th July.

I don't think that in the entire time I've been using the Victorian Energy Compare website I have ever managed to click through to a plan that actually matches the rates quoted.

As far as I can tell, the dodgiest retailers are gaming the system hard without any obvious consequences.

    • yeah that why you go to the the retailers site read the factsheet for the same plan you're after. Victorian Energy Compare website is sluggish AF. I can recommend https://wattever.com.au/ - so you basically set up an account and create your elec and gas profiles based on your past usage, tariff, postcode etc. and it shows updated plans/rates daily! as they provide wholesale pricing rates for ALL the retailers, so you get plans/offers from ALL the retailers in VIC for ex and you can choose the best one. the plan details they show already includes any discounts/promo etc so you can compare straight up. yeah they get kick from a few retailers but yeah no obligation, no calls or emails.

Worth a site after July 7th once they have updated the plans for this years VDO.

I'm averaging high 30s kWh per day (yesterday was 38kWh) and that is with Solar and Gas Heating.

Apparently Energy Australia have the best rates at the moment. That is who I am with and I adjusted my plan. Even though I was on their "Home" Plan, it was a legacy home plan. The new Home plan is better. But my Dad moved from Origin to Energy Aus as he got told by GoSwitch, they were the best for rates at the moment (for Power in AusNet area).
