Has anyone gone from a 6 Pro to an 8a? My 6 pro battery is getting a bit beyond ordinary and not sure if I hold out for the P9 or P10
Pixel 9 series should be launched on 13 Aug. I would HODL.
I finally created an OzB account just to say this - I went from a screen-shattered 6pro to a 7a and have regretted it every day since. Don't downgrade to an "a" if you can afford to buy the proper pixel. I wish I still had a working 6Pro.
What don't you like about the 7a if you don't mind me asking?
At least for me, battery life is poor (barely get through 1 day of medium usage). I have a Samsung Galaxy A54 that easily goes 2 days.
Also, can't put my finger on it - but past few months have had a number of bugs/glitches - like weird overlays, freezing and such odd issues (only a few, but noticeable)@theredrabitt: I can have my Pixel 8a sit on WiFi at home for 12 hours idling, and Mobile Reception is responsible for 50% of my battery used over that 12 hours, with '2 mins' being the total usage time for mobile reception during that period, I just don't understand how this modem is so inefficient.
If you CAN'T use WiFi, and are in an area without the best signal strength (don't assume you have good signal strength, even if you're in a metro area surrounded by phone towers like myself), then I'd expect less than 4 hour SoT with casual use, such as web browsing, listening to podcasts and checking messenger would be the norm.
I currently get about 4-5 hours SoT with the above example of casual use, no phonecalls or text messages, while on wifi for 2/3 of any given day.. Mobile Reception just chews through my battery and is responsible for 50-67% of battery usage in a charge cycle on any particular day.
Should just get the Pixel 8
