140

Well reviewed desktop microphone.

Normally goes for $35-45. So this is a standout price.

Will be useful for WFH setups or if you like using a pair of headphones without microphone features.

Can stack with cashbacks and if you add another $30 you can use the SALECD5 code for $5 off.

Also can be claimed at tax time if you are a paid keyboard warrior.

It's showing as AU$9.22 with Choice. And there's only one option.
EDIT: It's cos aliexpress signed me out and showed me new user promos. Kind of annoying, the sessions never seem to last long.

  • I've seen on some podcasts that some presenters are able to use a microphone without headphones and there is no feedback.

Does anyone know how to do that?

Speakers in front of microphone / facing away, microphone close to corner on your mouth + pop shield and possibly padding , egg carton cushions on the wall behind you. Good places to start, then once you’d tidied up the audio in there’s some hackish software solutions - no idea what an audiophile thinks of those

I'm sure there'd be software - presuming speakers and microphone are hooked up to the same computer, then the computer knows what audio is being output via the speaker and can 'cancel/ignore' it as input from the mic.

Careful speaker and microphone placement is the main thing, I think. Also selecting the right equipment - a mic with a cardioid or even supercardioid polar pattern will be much better suited than an omnidirectional microphone for example

Active Echo Cancellation can be handled via software. It's baked into software like Teams or Zoom, but I'm sure there's separate apps for it

I do it with an nvidia card and RTX voice. It can change just about any cheap desktop mic, its black magic

  • Any idea how to set up a “room audio” device detectable by Microsoft Teams? I have an old RPi 1 / a desktop in our conference room, I want a way to have a wireless mic that can’t be pinched permanently in there.

  • Can someone please confirm if this is better than the built-in microphone of Bose QC45 or Apple AirPods Pro?

    • +1

Can confirm it's better than Sony WH-1000XM4's. I got for the exact reason that people couldn't hear me clearly when using it, hence why I bought a standing desk mic. I assume other headphones wouldn't also be subpar compared to this

  • How would this compare to a Jabra Speak 510? (https://www.jabra.com/en-au/business/speakerphones/jabra-spe…) - would this better because you could 'aim' it towards you better than the Speak?

  • @bdl . Looks good indeed thanks . Very good question with no answer from those more tech and experienced. Bit sad there
