EcoFlow RIVER 2 300W 256Wh Portable Power Station $399 Delivered @ EcoFlow Australia

180

Now $399 ! Cheaper than when I bought mine a year ago for $439.

says 256Wh of capacity but in real life it's about 200Wh.
Its built in AC inverter is not the most efficient, if you have a low power draw AC device like a fan and you want to extend the battery life, grab another inverter off its DC output

I have one myself, ask questions if you wish, I am not associated.

NB: Also the other variants are also on special, but, i can't be bothered making a post for each.

Anything over $1 /Whr is too expensive.

Agree, plenty of other options out there. some brands getting close to the magical $0.50 per Wh!

    This is cheaper and 307Wh / 600W inverter https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/126528795975
$259 with HGTECH code. Quality is good.

that one quick charge is 3 to 4hrs
      ecoflow quick charge is 1hr
also its app gives you cool features like setting charging or discharging schedules for ac and dc, similarly combining ac and solar input schedules accordingly to battery charge

      • What do you use yours for?

    • also that one's dc output is unregulated, ie voltage varries according to charge level,

and also 7KG vs ecoflow river 2 3.5kg
but, i do like its jump start feature and connection to another battery expansion.

There will always be some specific differences, however the one I linked is considerably cheaper while having a higher capacity. $259 vs $399
Quality is good. I just received mine.

        • in a hurry i run my car engine and charge it with a little inverter off the car battery with clamps

easy way to avoid buying a second battery for just 1hr of idling.

and yes different horses, different courses. just mentioning this use case in case people are curious

          • @FoxJump: Does your car output more than 120w from the 12v cig port though? If not, it's going to be 3 hours anyway.

            • @Calvin27: you can plug an inverter to the car battery and charge it at 360w super quick, or yes 8ah through cig socket

  • So this could charge a gaming laptop from 0 to 100% twice assuming the battery was 99WH? Not going camping any time soon though

    • +1

probably not - but maybe - but defo not while you're using it
cos to charge those 99Wh probably takes 110wh of energy, plus dc to ac to DC losses - unless you use usb c at 60w output

      • -1

Thats right and also it is not advisable to run the battery beyond 20% remaining charge

        • +1

The laptop battery correct. The ecoflow is lifepo so run it down to 0 all you want but don't store it at 0

  • Can this be left constantly powered to be a UPS?

    • yesish
if you set its max charge to X, then itll vary from x to x-2% over and over

depending on your load, it may ups enough, otherwise if doing a heavy load then it may not be enough.

      ymmv.

worked for me on an idle computer, I've read online that it doesn't work for all, in all cases. for best result put an actual ups between this and your load.

also a ups tells you via usb the power is out, this does not. maybe you can home assistant yourself an integration idk

also you void warranty as they want you to drain to 0 and charge to 60% every 3 months. it wouldn't surprise me if they keep an internal charge log.

  • If I put this in my shed to charge Ozito 4Ah batteries, how many can i charge

    • my guess is two

      • Ah… so not that big. Thanks!
