  • How does this compare to Philips 4300? Are these machines made in Swiss?

    • Never used a Philips coffee machine, but Jura machines always make great coffee for a fully automatic machine. Better then Delonghi and I would assume better then Philips.

      • I had the S8 at work and the eletta explore at home. They are on par. EE is cheaper

        • Both good machines. Taste is subjective, but for me the Jura is slightly better.

@Aureus: Sorry I should have said to me the coffee made are on par. Agree taste is subjective

    • I had the 4300, coffee is okay given it’s a full automatic, but maintenance is pain in the neck. The brew group is flimsy and hard to clean compared to Delonghi ones.

    • The Phillips uses a similar brew group to the Jura (goes against gravity), Delonghi is a 180 and the flow goes with gravity.

But essentially the same thing. Coffee is a pressurised puck, pushed through a tiny 2mm hole.

Hence the destinct taste of autos.

  • The E8 looks like the older model is that right? The newer model has a better grinder?

    • Yeah E8 looks like a previous model. New model has better grinder, white buttons and bigger screen.

  • Shipping costs an extra $50. Mod please add to title

Jura refurb machines are garbage, get a delonghi

    • -1

Why is that? It looks like a decent deal if comparing to rrp and they seem rarely go on sale?

      • -1

        Honestly? RRP is always garbage.

    • why?

  • Picked up a E8 (S1) on Friday & it honestly felt brand when I unpacked it. Really really happy with it

I got E8 S2 grade from their warehouse sale couple of years ago. Looked brand new to me. Great coffee machine

Be careful, whilst these are great machines everything is proprietary. Parts and accessories are extremely expensive!!!! Worse than De'Longhi if you could ever imagine that possible.

Not even I would buy a jura 😔

    • I always find most things are repairable.

I bought a J9.3 for $100. Stepper motor inside was jammed (pried the motor tabs off, cleaned, lubed, put back together). Official repair is a several hundred replacement. Still working 2000 coffees later.

Coffee spout broke off (as the design is rubbish and you snap them off super easy when you forget to push back up and open the tray). Officially $100+ repair.

I used a 19 cent push on irrigation dripper and now the spouts plug on/ off - better than the original design.

O-rings and O-rings. Work out the size, order them from anywhere but Jura.

Jura do a flat fee repair for $400…. that is terrible.

      • Maybe they took some feedback on board.. once upon a time you weren't leaving a service agent for under $1000 for jura.

Is that warranty a joke?!! Surely ACCC has something to say about that

    • A contractual warranty cannot limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. You have statutory rights independent of these 12/3/1 month warranties, including that the machines must be reasonably durable and fit for purpose.

Can't even have a coffee a day with 12 months warranty lol

  • We just bought a brand new ENA 8 for $1599, great machine.

Quite a few years ago I spent > $1500 on a Jura C5 machine and paid for 5 year warranty. It broke down 6 times in 5 years, and each time I would have to box it up and send it away for repairs, leaving me without a decent coffee machine for weeks at a time. When it broke down again outside of warranty, I threw it out and replaced it with a pod machine that I still use to this day. For me, buying a Jura machine was an expensive mistake.

    • This.. but it's not just you. It's most. I once worked for a company called service sphere.

  • Is anyone skeptical about their website? I hope its not a dodgy website.
