Plant Based Whopper, Small Chips and Small Drink, $7.95 to $8.45

    :/

Yeah but it's still good value. Went out last night, started at hungries, and the feed for two was way less than the price of any single drink that followed thereafter.

Tip for anyone that gets this meal modded to be vegan: Ask for no mayo, then add vegan mayo and vegan cheese - adds 30c for the mayo. If you ask for vegan cheese and vegan mayo it adds 70c for the cheese. They only charge for the first addon in this combo so it depends which one they enter first. The extra 40c doesn't kill me if they enter it in the wrong order and I don't bother bringing it up but man that little saving when done right is just the final little sweetener in the deal.

      • Patty is cooked in the same broiler with all the meat. Ain't vegan even with modifications.

        • +5

Send me a link to your chosen purity laws and how they relate to veganism, I'll have a read.

        • +8

I’m not a vegan, but I think it depends on what type of vegan you are.

Most of the vegans I know are pragmatic and are more about minimisation of harm to animals than avoiding 100% of situations where animal products are involved - inclusive of non-food items.

          • @skittlebrau: Patty contains egg and milk according to the app. Therefore, not even plant based whether cooked in meat juices or not.

        • And it says it contains egg and milk. Only the vegetable patty on the Vegan Whopper is vegan. Just went through it all with the knowledgeable store manager. Note / birthday whopper includes Vegan Whopper.

I've never used vouchers at hungry jacks before. Can we just rock up and quote the deal, or can we just show a screenshot on our phone? How does it work?

    • +6

      Screenshot will work. Usually.

    • +13

The meme is phone is fine

      • +3

        Fine phone is

        • +1

          Is Fine Phone?

      • Haha, was glad to be a part of that thread

    • Thanks lads!

    • +2

In drive thru, I don't think I've ever shown them the voucher. Just told them at the speaker box, and paid at the window. No one has ever asked to see it.

      • +1

Somehow in WA Perth, I rock up with phone PDF, they rejected it. They want the original coupons. Is it different policy in WA?

        • What you do is just park it where you are in the drive through lane and tell them to call the cops untill they wanna honour your deal. Cops don't care and you'll get what you want. Just stay there blocking everyone. They will give it to you real fast. Maybe after 5 minutes max. Depends how smart they are.

          • @c920996: Until they call a towing service and drag you out of there haha

          • @c920996: You might get some extra something something in your burger
            .

      • +1

Yeah same here, they punch the code/deal in at that point so you can get your total on screen, otherwise they wastetime having to confirm when you rock up at the window, faster for them, easier on the crew.

    • +2

      yes phone is fine

    • +1

      Phone is fine

    • +1

At Cannington WA, they will only take printed Vouchers….. at Livingston WA, they will only accept the Phone Screen…… so the answer is….. it depends on the store.

  • Can these be used at airports these days??

    • +1

No. Last time I tried I was told only the app vouchers can be used but not these coupons.

  • +1

Do you get a staff discount as well?
The last offer could be the best!

  • +6

used to go HJ's once or twice a week when they had the 2 whopper jr and 2 small chips for $5.45
now lucky to go twice a year

    • +1

Same, used to go weekly, now havent been in 2024. Just terrible food for the price. Was worth it when cheap. Idk why they market it as superior take away. Yes, flavour is ok, but basically empty calories, and can make better food at home. The price increases has forced me to not be lazy and if I want quick easy food its just a toastie at home.

      • +2

Completely agreed with all of that. Without them being cheap, they have lost a lot of the appeal. It's not always that much more expensive now to go to a decent burger place, or like you said, just make something at home.

    • +1

Shake & Win used to generate a few freebies back in the day. (The only recent one that I've gotten is a small coffee/hot drink, though soft serve cone might still possibly be in there.)

And most importantly there was the best survey reward (paired with $2 cheesy cheeseburger or BBQ cheeseburger), with the best domain name as well.

They knew what they were doing 😂

    • Hows your cardiovascular?

  • Loved brekky role, until they started using Turkish bread, ruined the taste

    • Yeah they up their game on breakfast food

  • +3

every time I hope the bacon deluxe will be back…

  • App $5.90 small double cheeseburger meal is better value compared to the chicken royale, and double cheeseburger and small chips.

  • +1

If these hilariously bad vouchers are the discount prices, what are the full prices on that spiced cardboard ?

    • +4

I enjoy Hungry Jacks more than Maccas a great deal,

But to say they bother to spice their cardboard is giving them more credit than they deserve.

    • +1

Yeah at these prices where has the value gone for a cheap meal
Its either a woolies whole cooked chook or two whoppers

  • +1

Phone not fine for WA (or maybe some places)

    • At Cannington WA, they will only take printed Vouchers….. at Livingston WA, they will only accept the Phone Screen. Probably best to take both just in case LOL

      • Got told a hard no to phone at South Lakes (maybe Atwell too), I don't even get the paper ones in the mail most of the times. But coincidentally got one today haha

  • +2

No vegan Whopper with Cheese anymore :(.

    • Oh damn you're right. I used to like those because I would take one of the patties out (save it for later for a DIY burger) and it was a lot lighter than other HJ's offerings and wouldn't give me indigestion.

I say "used to" because I haven't eaten at HJ's in years now.

      • +1

Doing that tonight with the Vegan Whooper, which has vegan cheese.

    • Next time I’ll go, I’ll see if they can charge a little extra and make it a vegan whopper -

$12.95 for 2 was a good deal for last time

      • Shows how long ago I bought this deal, used to $10.95 :(

        • Confirming i got 2 plant based whoppers for $11.95

          • @Maxdax: Plant based or vegan?

            • @wavesgreen: Plant based :(

I'm vegetarian, and love HJ vegan whopper. I was on a long road trip and thought I would try the plant based, thinking it couldn't be too bad…. I was wrong. It was such a contrast to the Vegan whopper, that I almost handed in my OZB card, and paid full price on the way back… Luckily I got a shake and win on the way back, so ended up spending $16 for two rather than $20. Hope they bring the vegan voucher back on the next round of coupons… though I doubt it.

    • Vegan cheese on mine - Coffs Harbour NSW just now. No deals though - meat or plant based, which has egg and milk.

  • how come these deals never appear in the app?

  • -1

honestly, what's with the weird print format of these deals… why don't they move to an app already. it's such a baffling user experience for 2024.

    • +3

They're basically conducting a controlled redundancy from what I can tell. Seem to be wanting to phase out these printed deals completely, and wean everyone on to the app. Hence they keep increasing prices every time, and removing deals people actually want like Bacon Deluxe deals. Now it's becoming evident that the app yields better deals, most aren't claiming theae anymore.

God I miss the old days. Post GFC - 2013 were truly the golden years of fast food. Incredible deals for consumers in a fast food market share war on prices between the big take away companies.

      • -1

If that's what they're attempting to do then why not include the same deals in the app at a better price? Currently there's deals on the print vouchers that aren't in the app and vice versa. Just a strange approach if that's what they're going for.

        • Ikr, it is weird I agree. But feel as though they're probably taking the opportunity to discount food that costs them less. I.e 2x whopper jnr on app vs 2 x whoppers on physical voucher. Not sure of their logic but surely they've figured it's better for them profit wise.

  • Did they stop vouchers for vegan whopper?

  • no longer on HJ website.

    • how they get these voucher if not on official HJ website? A printed voucher from store or in the mailbox?

  • My parents use these and it really helps them to be able to have an affordable treat. They no longer get junk mail. I'm worried that HJ may hve stopped these coupons now, forcing people to use the app where there are no coupons…

  • any one got Digital link of vouchers to print paper Vouchers ?
