Lol at that point, you might as well pirate it.

      • +7

That wouldn’t give you access to cloud storage and features though

        • Ah touche

        • Yes, a "friend"told me you can have a few Microsoft account and a pirated installation of office, and it syncs without issues.

    • Thank you for this… pity I can't let my existing M365 Family subscription expire.

Gonna bookmark it though and look into switching to using Turkiye pricing somehow.

      • +2

I manipulated the json feed via proxy in the onedrive app to return an expired status so I could purchase. Then it was linked to my profile. Involved but works

        • Interesting, did it stack with your existing sub and grant an extra year on top or did it replace the expiry with just a year from date of purchase?

          • @Agret: It just worked, when the old one expired the apple subscription took effect. Not much they can do about it if there's a subscription from an app store it needs to use it.

    • Is it too bad if not an Apple user?

      • +1

You really just need to set the subscription up one time and ensure your account has enough balance to keep renewing.
You could borrow a device, login with a turkish itunes account, load a gift card and then subscribe. Once that's done the subscription will be linked to your microsoft account and keep going.

For those that want it "cheaper" without the cloud storage.

    https://github.com/massgravel/Microsoft-Activation-Scripts

    • +2

For those who want it "free" should google 'MS Guides'

      • +4

MS guides uses KMS which relies on external servers, the MAS uses a new method with a proxy dll file that just fakes that you have an active subscription so it's more reliable and doesn't send any data to outside servers. The fake sub also gets you access to all the local device features of a full 365 subscription where MS guides doesn't.

        • so is MAS method legal? If not, why doesn't MS shut it down?

          • @Homr: Github is owned by Microsoft and this "work around" has been on there for a long time and they could easily remove it but have not. Apparently its the same or similar way Microsoft gets around activation issues with their users.

            • +2

              @Stahh:

Apparently its the same or similar way Microsoft gets around activation issues with their users.

The underpaid international support staff use it to fake activate your products because they want good feedback on their surveys and to get you off the call faster. They don't have any power to generate new activation codes so are using the 'illegal' method rather than trying to get you to provide proof of purchase and waiting 20mins while you shuffle through papers and try your 37 different email addresses to find which one you redeemed it on / help you reset passwords/secret questions to regain access to your MS account etc.

    • Sure, do you have the link for 365 family at ow? They only have 2022 one

    • Is it eligible for the '365 day change of mind returns' as part of Onepass?

I use Microsoft 365 E5 subscription. It's free and got 5T storage. Have been using it for more than 2 years now.

  • +3

Or FREE if you work for the right organisation

    • What type is that

      • +2

If your company has enterprise licence with microsoft, you can use the licence including your personal machine.
1 licence can be used for 5 machines

        • Can you provide an official source.

All we have is Microsoft home use program, that is not free just a discount.

          • +3

@kanad: An E3 licence can be activated on 5 computers. That's assuming your company allows sign ins on non-compliant devices. You just need to log in to Office portal and download then sign in to licence.

    • +3

      Came here to say this.

Also don't forget to click on sign in to this app only and uncheck 'let my organisation manage this device's

      Don't remember the exact wording.

      • uncheck 'let my organisation manage this device's

This nefarious option never shows up on a Mac.

    • +1

Yep. I just login using my work email address for license validation.

    • Wow, thanks for this - I had no idea.

This was also perfect timing as my student sub had just expired on 26 June (and it's the reason why I was checking out this deal)!

There's nothing better than reading the comments for an Ozbargain deal and finding out there is an even better deal - free in this case thanks to my workplace!

  • Yay, thanks for posting OP, extended my MS 365 out until 2028 thanks to this.

    • How do you get 5 bucks discount

      • +3

It's on eBay as well. $5 coupon code was in my eBay.

        • Ah missed this, might have to buy another.

  • Is it possible to use this code to renew membership of an existing account ?

    • +2

Yes, I've renewed mine until 2028.
Guys, look at this deal from BingLee on the eBay store, you may get it for $91 with the $5 discount (may be targeted).
You can certainly use one of the cash back or Velocity points offers as well.
Bargain for a proper legitimate local code.

      • +2

Thanks, the $5 is eBay plus monthly. With 2% gift card it's $89. With I had more monthly codes

    • Yep as above poster mentioned until 2028

  • Damn it, should have waited for this deal. Ordered 2 years subscriptions from SaveOnIt last week but it has not been posted to me yet :(

  • -6

    Just torrent it lol

    • 🤡

      • -2

Microsoft are doing fine buddy, trust me.

  • Can I buy the subscription but used it early next year? I have a current subscription but under a different email address (expired Feb 2025) but I want to switch to a different email address for the new subscription as I realized I can't use a different email address for the subscription if you have an existing microsoft family where the owner is under different email address.

    • Yes, you can. I have 15 years' worth of subscriptions(physical codes), and the maximum you can load up is 3 years.

      • +1

I've got mine out 4 years so far :)

      • I am not adding the new subscription under my current microsoft account but using another email address that has an existing microsoft family group created for this new subscription. By just sharing the subscription to family member from that email address does not allow me to use it as it will complain that your member is already in an existing family group and I need to exit from that family group to use it. And I can't delete the existing family group and create a new one under the existing subscription email address as the email address is under my wife email address and I do not want to use her email address for management of the microsoft family group.
So not sure what you suggested will work

    • You dont need to setup new subscrption email. You can share the licence from your current email to new email. You can share to 6 people

      • By just sharing the subscription to family member from that email address does not allow me to use it as it will complain that your member is already in an existing family group and I need to exit from that family group to use it. And I can't delete the existing family group and create a new one under the existing subscription email address as the email address is under my wife email address and I do not want to use her email address for management of the microsoft family group.
So not sure what you suggested will work

        • Are you the owner of your own subscription?
I am the owner and I can add or delete people.
If you are the owner, you cant do above. Talk to microsoft

          • @HolyCr4p: I am the owner of the subscription except that during the 1st activation, my wife uses her email address to activated it and she becomes the owner and I can't change it.

  • Cheaper way is to find a cheap single user subscription, buy it for multiple years by purchasing multiple codes and adding them all to your account and then upgrading to the family plan via the Microsoft account site. It'll upgrade your multiple years of single user subscription to a family subscription even if you only go month to month for the family subscription.

I miss the days of just outright purchasing office. Especially through HUP for $15-$20. I'm dreading when my office 2019 stops being useful

    • +1

I used to think the same, but I much prefer the subscription now, getting all the latest updates and 1GB OneDrive per user which can be used for phones, PC, tablets, make this a total bargain, particularly if all 6 are being made use of it is only $1.26 per user per month, in this scenario.
As another poster has said below, if you don't need the premium features or storage, you can always use the free online version at office.com

      • *1 TB

        • That's what I meant, thanks :)

    • You can still buy Office 2021 without a subscription

    • +2

I’m with you on that, I’m old enough to remember when MS sold Office for this price, which you paid once, and you’d have the software forever. People have been accustomed to this software as a service delusion and happily throw their money at the megacorps. The day you stop feeding the beast, the day you stop being able to use the software. And all your data kept on their servers is gone and lost.

After 5 years at this price, you’ve thrown over $480, enough to buy the software once (if you could nowadays) plus multiple hard drives plus online storage if you need it.

There’s always OnlyOffice, Libreoffice, etc too.

      • I just use Google docs. Seem to work fine enough for me

        • Don't need to, Office online (web version) is free, the same as Google docs at office.com, if that's all you require :)

  • +3

If you don’t need the bigger storage or the premium office features, you can use the free version at office.com (Microsoft account required)

  • +2

I wish it was one user for 6 years

  • Could you grab a couple of these from Bing Lee to load up for a couple of years? Could they be fed straight in to the 365 account to push the sub date out?

Seems like decent value from a reputable establishment.

  • +4

Ebay link for those playing at home: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/165163621484

    • Ho snap, was lookin for their Ebay listing before but couldnt find it. Will add to the OP.

  • My Education version stopped working last night now I'm after 1 at a good price

  • 4% off via my Health Insurance plus the $5 Ebay Plus coupon means only cost $87.36. Already have something like 22 months on my account so adding another year is all I'd want to do right now :)

  • Does the family version include MS Publisher ?

  • Are all ms office subscription based now? Cant buy offline version for cheap now?

    • +1

Technically no problems with SaveonIT.. been using them for years and they are legit. Good price from Bing Lee here though. I'll top it up and in time to claim tax. lol.
