Why have I started getting marketing push messages from the CashRewards Android app, even though I have always had "Push notifications" disabled in their app "Communication preferences"?
I know that I can block all notification from their app in the Android settings.
But its odd that they don't follow their own app settings.
Install Hibernator app in your android to close any apps that do not need to keep running in the background all day. Only keep important/necessary apps running all day such as emails, social media like WhatsApp etc. I don't want banking apps, cashback apps, games etc. that are not important to keep running all day and draining battery and eating data.
Data in the background for each app can be disabled in the setting for each app.

I still don't get notifications from Words With Friends, even though I paid for the ad free version and have been using it for years, tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Still nothing, it's the only app that doesn't do what I told it do wrt notifications. If Cashrewards is sneaking their notifications through to you as important and not just ads, it's probably just because it makes them more money when some people open those notifications and spend money.
