Cheapest Place to Buy Prescription Lenses

Looking to put prescription lenses into my existing Oakley frames.

Basic single vision lens is fine.

The usual places (Specsavers etc)..pricing is horrendous!

Has to be something better out there?

    • Can't see a lense only option?

      • Online stores dont do lense only option. Try costco.

        • All Costco's (SA)?

        • For anyone looking at this in the future… Costco charge $160 for single vision sunglass lenses (all come with Polarisation), or $350 for multi- focal lense.

So currently, Bupa optical are the cheapest so far at $206 for a 'Relaxed' (multi) lense.

  • Japan. 200$ for two.

  • In Trump accent: CHYNA!

Can get branded glasses including lens for $50
(Might cost you 1k in flights though YMMV)

    • In fairness everything in 'Chyna' is $50 or less..

      • Ehhhh you would be surprised.

        • Yeah…developing fast, I get it. The "branded" sunglasses would have to be high level knock offs right ?
But, I do have knock of RL hoodies and Quicksilver boardies.. which are much better quality than the originals.

They are, but funnily enough specsavers cant tell the difference, nor can anyone.

My family has gotten several different types of frames from china and gone into different spec savers to get them to tighten a screw or give them a clean etc and they never say boo.

I have also had specsavers check the lenses for my prescription and it was bang on.

            So no complaints here.

  • I'm very happy with zenni. Not sure they are the "cheapest", but very good

    • Zenni only have the one style though right?

      • Dude, they've got hundreds.

I like it because I can take the measurements of my existing glasses and filter to ones that suit.

        • Ah cheers, got mixed up with a different site.

So I could measure up my Oakley Holbrook and Sylus and find lenses that will match? Wonder how private health deal with that (you can buy a pair of sunnies, but need to also buy prescription lenses to make a claim). Don't have to be from the same place.

          • @tunzafun001: Lol , you're not going to be able to match lenses.

            • @Davo1111: I'm lost…why not?
Galaxy etc do replacement polarized (non prescription) replacement lenses.

All the usuals optical shops do replacement Oakley lenses (for $210 +).

Had to file down the galaxy lense a smiggin ..easy enough.
