Why not get physical games at that price?

    • Physical new release games are generally more expensive than $53.98.

Personally I still prefer physical copy for collection and future playability.

Each to their own but 100% of $0 is $0. So no matter how expensive Nintendo physical games are you can always recuperate your money (they hold value really well) and allows you to try more games if you want. You can’t ever get any of your money back for digital

        • No interest in ever getting my money back on my games, so no problem; just extra hassle to have physical, unfortunately got some when the original purchase of the switch but never again.

OTOH I've also never paid as much as $53.98 for a game, perhaps if I was buying the $$$ ones I'd care more about resale :D Anyway - digital is definitely preferred by some!

@ely: Understandable. Yeah different choices and options are a good thing

            • @v7dal: Actually I bought some digital copies in my account , I could sharing with my friend, especially some titles 90% you don't need to sell, like Mario Party.

I still have ~$200 bucks in my E-Wallet from back when Coles were selling Ecards 20% off, so there's that.
(Someone smarter than me could do the maths on what that works out to be per-game when coupled with this deal, something like $43 I guess?)

Constantly swapping physical carts can be annoying if you're playing several games at once, or if you have one 'daily' game that you always have to swap back to (Ring Fit Adventure.. Oh how I wish I could just get this one digitally.. Ugh)

That said, it doesn't seem like anything other than Zelda Echoes of Wisdom has made it's way to the NSO voucher list from the Nintendo Direct; I would have been keen for things like Mario Brothership or Jamboree.
I wonder why they aren't up yet :/

      • I wonder why they aren't up yet :/

Most likely have to wait closer to the release date for them to be added.

        • Yeah I guess that makes sense. I didn't even know when these were coming out admittedly until looking them up just now.

Same here, it comes out to be about $40.48 per game with the 20% discount.

You could buy the vouchers now and redeem them later, they have a 1-year expiry on them.

With digital games, you can "share" the game with someone else so you can effectively get 2 copies for the one price.

      • Same with physical. I just hand it or post it to a friend. And I’m not forced to share with only one person who has same id. I can share it to anyone. But yeah also each person has different uses

You can play at the same time, my brother and I split the cost of a digital game and can play multiplayer in said game together owning just one digital copy.

          • @chemical-miracle: That’s also cool. I’m just going on basis on being able to resell a game.

If I buy 2 copies I can still recuperate my cost more than paying 50% of a game and never being able to get money back

            Eg game costs $60.
You pay $30 your bro pays $30
            Gone for life

I and my brother buy two copies total $120.
We want a new game so sell it for $40-45 (we’ll go with $40)

So I and my brother each lost 33% each, but kept 66% each but you lost 100% of your money. I manage to lose percentage of money and also keep more money in my account. Essentially I’m using game for $20 which is cheaper than your brother and you each doing it for $30 each in the end

Again I’m only talking financially speaking. Everyone’s case is different but for me I prioritise finances. Each to their own

          • @chemical-miracle: yeah its pretty cool right? My partner and I might get a game, such as Splatoon 3, and we can play together with only one copy.

            • @catbarf: No, you can't online together with one digital copy. It works well on local multiplayer game. Such as Monster hunter

              • @Diddz: I can do it on my end and do it all the time though? So I know it works. Or has something changed?

    4x 675 Points = 2700 Points = ~$27 (1 point = 1 cent)

Just need a deal on eShop giftcards now to pair with it

  • Can you use the points immediately on the transaction for the vouchers?

    • Please note that the bonus amount of Gold Points is not displayed during checkout. The bonus Gold Points will be issued along with a confirmation email generally within a few hours of purchase.

The post has the above statement. Few hours delay on the points.

    • If anyone is curious about using the previous 2700 Gold Points for purchasing the next 2 NSO vouchers, that works.
After waiting about 2 hours for my first 2700 Gold points to be credited, I was able to buy the next 2 NSO vouchers for $107.95 (-$27 Gold Points discount)

  • Nice, my 10% discounted nintendo gift cards bought with 13% discounted TCN jb hifi cards are going to come handy now.
