UPDATE 3rd July - Amazon has price matched Big W.

All-time-low for this set I think. Otherwise, Target is selling for $71.20 with the 20% off toys sale.

You may get an extra 10% off if you use the Everyday Extra code for this month, XJUL2024. You don't need to be an Everyday Extra member but make sure you're signed in and haven't used the code this month.

Don't know what Big W is smoking, advertising this as 40% or $44 off as the RRP is definitely not $110.

Nice set, and complete with the original logos is a bonus from ebay

    • You can get the durrie
      sponsorship stickers?

    • Marlboro man approved.

    • Yes, I'll get these stickers too. Most of the fond memories as kids we have from that period involved cigars in some way - either on TV, or addicted family adults, or kids smoking them themselves

  • +3

    Also the staggered wheels

    • +3

Those wheels cost as much as the set…

      • I mean if you got a 3D printer then you can technically print them off yourself. But if you don't and aim for realism then that's your only choice.

I got this one back when it was $79 and I'd say it's worth it to get those tires.

        • The ones on the og set are way too low profile, not just too narrow on the rear

      • +2

Those wheels cost as much as the tyres on my kia picanto

Also imagine telling jerry seinfeld in front of 11,000 melbournians that you drive a kia picanto 🤯 someone did last Saturday

        • Wait what did I miss?

          • @Grey 13: His Kia Picanto.

          • +2

@Grey 13: At the 5pm session Q&A at the end, a guy stood up and was shouting at him about wanting a selfie on stage with him and Jerry was like 'I remember you, you were in sydney, you asked the same question in sydney, and I said no, just like I'm going to say now. There are 11,000 other people here' then he got in a conversation about how he drove down and what car he drives and you could see Jerry just wanted the conversation to end lol

The Palestine protestors were at the later show

            • +1

@King Steuart: Wow. It was hard to listen to that guy during the Sydney show. Jerry made reference to him clearly being mentally unwell. Then to hear that he drove to the Melbourne show and then got called out. Yikes.

Apparently the manuals are actually pretty fun to drive.

  • That was quick.
Sold out already (with free delivery).

    Have to try instore.

  • Anyone had any success 3D printing the wheels and stencils?

  • Absolutely love this set! Amazing price.

  • Had fun building this

  • bought it at $79, should have waited for this!

Give it to your kid and watch them go vroom vroom while smashing it into the walls.

  • Thank you, got the last one from the local BIGW. Used to be a Senna fan when I was a kid. This set is nostalgia.

  • Bought (thanks OP) but damn, the new Lego tyres are shocking!

  • Dammit missed out!

edit, found one at Pagewood! Everyday extra code worked and paid $59.40 :)

  • I saw a bunch of these at Chermside Big W a few days ago, all were badly boxed damaged. Drop the price, sell at a discount online, ship damaged boxes around the country. Classic BIG W!

    • They can't blame Australia Post!

      • +2

Not when the Australia Post box is in pristine condition!!!

  • Zzz I didn't get to order one myself as I was having issues with my gift cards, I underestimated the popularity of this LEGO set.

  • Order already cancelled for store pick-up

  • +1

As a long time F1 fan those rear tyres are absolutely terrible

  • Thank OP, got one for pickup!

  • Order cancelled for store pickup at Tweed City

  • Only available 139 KM away, no post option!

  • Wow… many people are buying these. If live to see some of their collections here

  • anyone get the code to work?

  • Thanks OP, managed to score one of the last ones in my area for pickup. The XJUN2024 code worked for me, and I also had $20 sitting in my Everyday Rewards. Not bad for $39.40!

I also see that it is available for free standard delivery now (Melbourne, VIC) so that might an option for those that don't have stock nearby.

  • Pickup order cancelled :(
